I LOVE this song. I have been listening to it all month. I am definitely gonna add it to my repetoire for when I do my next gig. I love Michael Arden's version, because he acts it (and his voice is more like mine), but Josh's last high note is splendid.
I prefer Josh's, but I'm biased. Here's the track list for his CD, by the way: http://www.josh-young.com/Tracks.htm IMO, it's worth every penny just for the WSS bonus track.
Yeah, i'm buying Josh's CD when I get some money. However, I don't really like his version of Run away with me, or Flight. I'm currently singing Flight and to me, his version - thought probably not his fault - doesn't really move. It is just kind of bland. His voice sounds good and there are certain parts of the song that he added in some different vocal parts that I like - and will be using lol. His run away with me is sort of the same, just kind of bland. His voice is very full and operatic almost. I don't think his last note - an Ab - is all that good, it sounds weak compared to the rest of the song.
Anyone know where I can hear "In whatever time we have" ?
I've listened to this song so many times in the past week. Originally, I preferred Michael's version, but Josh's is growing on me. Of course, I think I'd like anyone singing this song. Love it, love it, love it!
"Wilkins, after all these years, are you trying to be funny?"
I just heard this song on myspace.com and had to google it..amazing A MAZE ING! I found both versions on the composers website www.kerrigan-lowdermilk.com. I love being able to hear two different people sing is so differently too. For my money its Josh all the way, but I have a thing for singers named josh . I can't believe the voice. I've seen Michael Arden in a concert b4 and I'm in love with him too. Its kinda like comparing apples and oranges, ya know. I'm gonna buy Josh Young's cd when I have the money. I heard "Flight" on his website and had chills, like I melted. Does Michael Arden have a cd?
I'm biased. After listening to Michael's version for months, I like Michael's version better. However, that's not to say Josh Young's version is bad. The only think I don't like is that it sounds as though he was on the verge of losing it (as in on the verge of losing his pitch or something) in the last chorus.
But ooooh...the arrangement is so much better with drums and string.
Well, I can hear Arden's version in the context of the show, his version sounds like it would fit better into the show, where as Young's version sounds just like a "song" from a CD - which it is. however, I do not like Young's "flight" The tempo was really to slow and it seemed like he had no emotion in it at all.
wow...weird rentboy... I can't stop listening to Flight!? Its like my new favorite song! I think is sounds full of emotion. Like total opposite of your opinion ..but thats interesting. Who else sings it? And as for the songs on the album...what is Even The Pain?
Well, i'm singing the song right now in my voice class, also check out Kyle Dean Massey sing it on his website, just search for him. I really like his version. There are parts of Young's that i like when he says "inside....let me run through a field in the night..." towards the end of the song, I really like that part and I'm going to use it - ha. But the begining, I don't think there's much emotion in it at all. Just seems like he's trying to hard to get all the notes and whatnot, but just my opinion, its still an amazing song. I love the strings on his version - wish I had them.
