I don't see a thread for this one, and a search did not yield any results so I figure I would kick things off!

I was at tonight's first preview, and I have to say... I totally get the hype, and while I didn't see Jack's Olivier completion, I can totally get how he won. What he is doing on that stage, almost by himself is a masterclass.

I had been excited for this, even before the Olivier noms came out - idk why, just something about how it was advertised on social media drew me in, and with the awards recognition and wins, I just became hooked on being there that first night. This show will absolutely pose some off-Broadway awards threats (OCC & DD), assuming it is eligible this year, and if this sells well, and I REALLY hope it does, I can see a fall limited bow on Broadway 100%. Tonight absolutely did not feel like a first preview, it was that tight and honed in.

Great merch too, including an album of 15 songs used in the show, which are all FANTASTIC. I also get why the Lighting and Sound Design were nominated (and Sound Design won in London) - that is some brilliant artistry.

If it wasn't obvious, I highly recommend this, and don't wait cuz I smell a hit at the Lortel.
