Anyone else a little underwhelmed? I'm excited for this show but to me, the song is a bit throwaway.

What helps the song is the choreography, which can be quite exciting.
I'm so curious to see how this continues to develop. The Tribune review hit the nail on the head with what needed to be worked on.
Having seen HAIRSPRAY, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, and LEGALLY BLONDE..to me, it seems like a lot of Jerry Mitchell's typical fare, and a bit of recycling at that.
That being said, between the team and the cast, I feel this show has a lot of potential and even with some out-of-town flaws and bumps, it may shape up quite nicely for Broadway.

This show seems generic in every way. I don't know who finances these things. It looks like Priscilla meets La Cage. I can't see these running very long even with raves, which I doubt. Mitchell's work is a little staid at this point.
Well, Hal Luftig won the lotto producing early on in his career, and he seems to have been a loyal backer to Jerry Mitchell's projects for some time now. I agree that the clips posted here make the show seem very hollow and derivative.
Poor Stark looks adorably uncomfortable in those boots. But, I'm actually very excited about the show.

Oh cool! Is this the part we judge an entire musical based on the 49 second teaser video? Awesome! Can't wait to rip the **** out of "big fish".
Sorry, Mercades, but the second video is a full nearly 6 minutes long and I've seen enough of Mitchell's work to recognize the patterns. I do hope the show surprises me though, I LOVE the movie.
I'm pretty excited for this show but I think Mitchell peaked with La Cage and has been going downhill since.
Jerry Mitchell sure is busy. He has this show and next year it looks like "The Honeymooners" might be coming in.
