I don't know what the equity rule is either. I'm sure there something contract-wise as well - since "work" more or less starts for them at half-hour.
But I know that if I lapsed like that as a Stage Manager I'd just die. Perhaps we should suggest they add "Check for all Actors: physically present" to their preset lists from now on? lol

Our Stage Manager at college (and subsequently, summer stock) always does a physical body check. I think it's mostly her not wanting to get her butt kicked by the director if someone slips through. I realize, though that the logistics of that are tough to pull off in a larger company.

Heh. Last summer, if the SM found you in the body check and you hadn't signed in, believe me, there was hell to pay from her. The director could care less as long as you hit the stage on time.

Mr. Caplan DID forget there was a show that day and the stage manager didn't notice until he was calling places. So, that's why there was a delay in the show starting.

I, too, wish he had forgotten to show up on Thursday when I went.

Probably got sick. Vacation. Just because the show was delayed for "several minutes" does not mean that they waited for the stand-by to get ready. >>>

Thanks for the snotty response. You should read your own sig. BTW, an announcement was made about "last minute casting" and then an announcement was made for the casting change.
