Karen's an incredibly talented actor. I've seen her in Rent and enjoyed her a lot. Her b/f's got a bit of talent himself.

She's my favorite part about Brooklyn!! I've seen it twice and she really steals the show for me. She has incredible energy and she looks like she's having so much fun esp. during Paradice's songs.
I wonder how tired she is after the show. She's constantly moving. I mean the whole cast is but seriously it's like one moment she is dancing, next she's in the middle announcing the final battle.
Incredible!!! Also, she's really nice at the stagedoor but I usually just smile, can't think of anything to say to her. :)

I saw her in RENT. She was great. I didn't know she was dating Matt. He's great too! Are there other Rent couples, aside from Idina and Taye.

Posted: 11/26/04 at 9:42pmThat's a little harsh, insomniak. I've seen a few really bad performances in the many times I've seen Rent (none from Matt, though), and even still, I can't say that any of them ruined the show for me. Matt's a very talented actor and musician and was an excellent Mark in the Benny tour days. I also enjoyed him in many of his swing roles. His early days as Mark at the Neder were also good as he gained more and more experience. In the past year or year and a half, he's been hot and cold in his performances but I can't imagine him ever ruining a show. What about him ruined the show and how many times have you seen him? And when, I guess I should also ask, along with who else have you seen as Mark? Curious am I. :)

Posted: 11/26/04 at 10:00pmI was reading the hilarious synopsis of Brooklyn on Broadway Abridged, and learned that the "Latina Girl" is Brooklyn's mother at points during the show (I was confused, because then they had her moving the sets a lot), anyways, she looks so young, almost the same age as "Brooklyn" - they look more like sisters than mother/daughter.

Posted: 11/26/04 at 11:27pmI got to see Karen go on as Mimi in Rent back when she was on the tour, and she was fantastic. I'm glad I made a mental note to remember her name, because I knew she would go on to bigger things:) She's great.

"because I knew she would go on to bigger things"
Gotta say here that Brooklyn is hardly "bigger things". :)

Posted: 11/26/04 at 11:43pmHehe. Well, okay (you may be right) but it's a step in the right direction. Originating a role in a new musical will probably turn out to be a good choice in the long run, as it will come with more recognition and opportunity than staying as an understudy in a show she's been with for a long time, I would think.:)

I watched her little videos on the brooklyn website and they were both so endearing and honest.
I think I'm just going to keep going to see brooklyn for SUPERLOVER. :)
Also she's ALWAYS smiling during OUAT and staring at Eden. It's so sweet.
How many times have you see Rent? :)
