She just seems to have an aversion to anyone who she recognizes as a fan of her boyfriend's. Not from my own experience, but a friend of mine's. Which I would chock up to paranoia if it had only been one incident, but I've heard it's a trend. Somewhat understandable, depending on how present that fan may be, but still kind of odd.

I can't get over how wonderful Karen's voice is! I cannot stop listening to "Brooklyn Grew Up" just to hear that opening.

Yes! Karen is amazing. I stayed after at the stage door and she was sooo kind! After I went to Hairspray, some of the actors were somewhat rude to me. I do understand that it isn't in their contract to stay after but Karen was more than happy to sign and chat. She looked like she was having the most fun up there on that stage and was a total sweetheart!

Karen is wonderful, and never ceases to make me smile. She brings so much life and energy to the roles she plays in Brooklyn and gives an excellent performance. She's also incredible nice, funny, and artistic as well.

Probably that people used to stop her, ask for pictures/autographs/etc only because she's with Matt Caplan, who I think is more well-known on the Rent scene. I have no doubt that it made her feel lousy that people were stopping her because of who she's dating instead of her talents. It is a little insulting.

I never knew the two of them were dating? Well it is completlly understandable if she would be mad for being stopped by Matt's fans. At least i think so.

I'm not sure if that's what she meant about Karen or not. It's probably more likely to be a case of her being annoyed with the crazy fangirls who stalk Matt Caplan. I've seen them in action, including when Karen's around, and I don't blame her for getting irritated with them. Karen's a very nice girl who is almost always incredibly open and friendly with fans. And to Rentheadut, Karen was in Rent for a lot longer than two weeks. Not sure what you meant by that.

She's incredibly talented. It's not saying much to say that hearing her sing was a "highlight" of sitting through Brooklyn, but she really looked like she was having a lot of fun up there, and has a great voice.

To be fair, I've heard the same things as GirlfriendFromCanada. At least in the past, Karen used to come off as sometimes nice and sometimes not so nice at the stagedoor. She was in Rent way before Matt (SWTaffy - I think Karen was in Rent from late '97 until August 2001 on both Broadway and Tour), so I doubt it has anything in particular to do with him. However, she can be a bit territorial or possessive when it comes to who she's with (there were men in her life before Matt ya know), which is understandable I suppose. I've just heard that she's a bitcH. None of this has anything to do with her talent though, so whatever. If you enjoy her performance, that's all that really matters.

Wow, I've only heard good things about her and I've only seen good things from her. She's quite giving at the stagedoor, sometimes she doesn't even have a pen with her!! I find that quite endearing.

But no matter what, I think she is incredibly talented!! She's my favorite part of Brooklyn!! "Creating Once Upon a Time" is turning into my favorite song. I wish she had another duet with Eden, they blend quite nicely.

Haven't seen In the Heights yet, but she was uberfierce as Sheila in last summer's Hair concerts in the park. Definitely the highlight of the show.

She blew me away as Sheila last summer in Hair.... too bad she's not in it again.
I met her after the show, she couldn't be a cooler, more chill, down to earth talent!!

As someone said ( a couple of years ago lol) that Karen is possessive about Matt. I have only seen her be that way when she was in Rent or visiting the show and he was in it as Mark. She got possessive and didn't like the fangirls gawking around her man. However, if you were a guy it was like she didn't see you as a threat and didn't say/do anything.
