Kate Winslet Tapping !

Did anyone else see this besides me?

It was on SNL...she did really good and wasn't that bad of a singer.

Did she start out in theatre as well?

I remember during her Inside the Actor's Studio interview, James Lipton asked her to tap dance because he knew she could and always loves his guests to tap when they are there. She said she would normally be very up for it and loved to tap but she had literally just had her son within the previous couple of weeks and said she really couldn't at that time. She seemed genuinely disappointed that she couldn't do it.

Yeah Kate started out in theater school. She is a very good dancer and does it in several of her movies Heavenly Creatures, Titanic, and Iris are the ones that come to mind right now.

I would like to see her do a musical on stage somewhere down the line in her career.

She's a fabulous singer, too! If someone ever decides to use her as a star draw for a musical, I'll be first in line for tickets.

I don't know about that....If you saw some of the badly acted shows on English television (the non-BBC channels) you may doubt that statement.

If Kate Winslet ever came to B-way, I'd be online, at the stage door within minutes! She's one of the few women who could turn me straight...she's a breathtaking actor and just beautiful!

Kate's older sister Anna Winslet starred in the UK musical Thalidomide!!. She sounds a lot like Kate.

Kate also had a hit single in the UK about 3 or 4 years ago called "What If" from the animated film CHRISTMAS CAROL. Plus she did her own singing in HEAVENLY CREATURES and SENSE & SENSIBILITY.

If anyone has ever seen Sense and Sensibility she sings in that and has a beautiful voice. She is definately my favorite film actor.

I remember reading something in that Delta Airlines magazine that she filmed a movie/musical with James Gandolfini (I don't know if that if that's how you spell his name, but it's Tony Soprano =0) ) She sings and dances through out the movie, but I don't remember much else about it. I love her! I even love her credit card commercial!

I love Kate Winslet! Love, love, love! She is in a move musical called Romance and Cigarettes. Its release was delayed I think...I hope it comes out soon even in a limited release. I read in an interview that she would really like to do a theatre project...I hope one comes her way that is worthy of her talent.

I really do love her. Are there still any rumors about her being in consideration for Mary Poppins? I doubt she would leave the film world right now but she sure would be perfect.
