Katie Adams will be the new Glinda standby on Broadway

On Maria Eberline's official site, she said that Katie left the tour to take over as the Broadway standby. Congrats to Katie!

Yep, love her! Hopefully when Hilty leaves in May (if she choses not ot extended her contract, I pray she doesn't.) Katie may take over for her. Here to make it more official

this means i'm gonna see emily rozek as glinda in philly... woo hoo! nothing against kendra or katie but i saw emily as millie and wanted to see her as glinda... this of course assumes they will be a lotto in philly

Congratulations Katie! I did not see her Glinda when she was in Dallas, but I had the pleasure of meeting her when she sang for a hurricane benefit at my church. She, Kendra and Emily were all delightful.

The stabd-by for Broadway was STACIE MORGAIN LEWIS she becasue she is taking over as Glinda in Chicago when KATE REINDERS leaves.

Good for her! I thought she was fantastic. When I saw it, the people next to us had flowers, and it turned out it was Katie's boyfriend and his family. So he took us back to meet her afterward and she was the sweetest sweetest person. I hope good things continue to come her way

Katie said she's not even sure why they only have her for a month. But we'll just keep our fingers crossed that they keep her longer. Write letters people! I'm serious!! She's the best damn Glinda I've seen in a while!

She was absolutely amazing when I saw her on tour in Chicago. I liked her better than Chenoweth, at least from the soundtrack standpoint. Apparently she was also Soupy Sue when I saw Urinetown on tour, way back when I did not have as much Broadway knowledge.

Katie is AMAZING!!! When I first saw her I thought there was NO WAY she could be different from the other 5 Glinda's I'd seen. But she COMPLETLY reinvented the role and plays Glinda so differently. I adore her. She is also one of the most kind and sincere people I know.

She IS amazing!
I think the thing that really sets her apart from all the Glindas is she has such *heart*. Both onstage and off. I really connected with the character, much more than I did with anyone else in the role. She's funny and has lots of energy but doesn't have to go overboard to get laughs.
Not to mention the fact that she's just about the sweetest person you could ever imagine.

Couldn't agree more MLE! She just plays the role from the heart. And I think that's really needed in this role!

aegeusrocks - I think I'm going to have to let Katie know that you like her more than Kristin. I think she will be incredibly flattered! Kristin is someone she adores and really wants to meet!
