I always thought Kelli O'Hara was about the hottest woman on Broadway, but this new girl is a real looker too! I'm looking forward to her "Say it Somehow" for all the wrong reasons.
haha ourtime, too bad Aaron doesnt resemble matt. otherwise it would have been total dejavu. little clones running around Firenze
"Beating AIDS and extreme, stupid poverty, this is our moon shot. This is our civil rights struggle, our anti-apartheid movement. This is what the history books will remember our generation for--or blame us for, if we fail."-Bono
I am glad that they went with an unknown. And to get the role in college still, what a great graduation present to herself. I only wonder how her chemistry is going to be with Victoria? Because I thought Kelli and Victoria had incredible chemistry togther.
Anyone know how she pulled this off? like, how did she get an audition in NYC if she was still in TX? And she's not even from one of the "major" universities for musical theater. Was she at grad. school or just normal ol' college?
My thoughts exactly...I am also very curious. What a story! I can't believe this has happened especially with such accomplished and experienced performers as Ms. Wills and Ms. McGinnis up for the role (as discussed on a previous thread). It doesn't look like she has had much experience...I wonder if she will be able to handle the schedule and the physical demands? This could end up being something right out of a movie.
I was wondering the same thing. It's like, how did she even get an audition? Maybe there was an open call, but I didn't see anything listed in Backstage magazine. My guess is that a teacher at her school knew the casting director or something. Good for her though. It's a great way to start one's career! I'm assuming she got the part because she deserved it (isn't it nice when that actually happens?).
Yeah, Baritone. Well, I myself, am a college student, and just wondering how that worked out. I'd love to move to NYC knowing I had a good steady job for at least a year. I'm just wondering how she did it, so maybe I can do the same. Do you think maybe she just called the casting directors? or sent them her pic/resume?
omg am so excited, I live in london and by chance booked piazza for the 16th so i will see her first ever show. i have never seen some1's first ever performance before. am v. pumped
you know, just because she's in college doesn't mean that it was an open call audition. there are MANY people who have their equity card before they graduate college. my friend has actually had his since he was 7, and has kept it ever since. and i don't think that you have to go to a conservatory or a top performing arts school to land a lead role in any show.
looks like to me that she is super talented, and to get this role at her age, must mean something. i wish her all the best!
actually, this reminds me of coleen sexton replacing linda eder in jekyll and hyde when she was only NINTEEN. but, anyways...
