I'm not sure about a "transfer" per se, but I hope we get a revival sometime soon. In the era of LMM, I think it'd be a missed commercial opportunity, even if it was a limited engagement or something.
I think this production looks very good, but the timing doesn't really seem right. Especially they want to make sure Hamilton is staying strong after they've established it. I'm sure it would still sell out, but I'd wonder if at this point if in the heights would cut into it a bit.
Maybe if you are Uber successful like Lin Manuel it would seem really cool to have more than one show on Broadway at the same time. I think that would be a feather in his cap he may be interested in ......
I think it may be a good idea to at least revive the show for a limited engagement. There's so much talent out there who could take on these roles so casting would be easy. I think it could definitely pull in people who are a fan of Hamilton/LMM and can't get a ticket to that show.
And for casting, I'm all for Anthony Ramos as Usnavi but if he couldn't do it I would love to see Robin de Jesús take on the role. I saw him at Olney in MD and was blown away. He's perfect for the role and puts so much emotion into the part that I think Lin's performance lacked. Villafañe would be perfect as Nina too. I'm not advocating for Vanessa Hudgens to get the part if it does come to Broadway but she may bring in ticket sales...
