I'm really bummed about this. I'm an ardent fan of BSM, and was very much looking forward to this.
Ok, looking for a bright side.....now I won't feel so guilty spending money on good tickets for the Jason Robert Brown concert at Strathmore.

Well, considering I'd been looking forward to the Sweeney concert for a year...

Regardless of how pathetic the season is at Kennedy and Warner (and National, for that matter), DC still has a strong regional scene. I wish people would not judge the offerings simply on venues that mainly have tours or big productions- expand your horizons. And no, I don't work for any of the regional theatres.
That said, I did not plan to attend the Sweeney concert simply because it is too soon to have something like this after the high profile Sweeney productions in the last few years, but am sad for those who did want to attend.

Although the season at the Kennedy and Warner are pathetic, it is more frustrating because of the fact that they keep cancelling things. And, I would have to disagree about DC's stong reagonal scene. For DC's size, I find cities like Chicago are much better and have more to offer on a consistent basis. But maybe it is just my taste?

Aw, damn. I had been thinking about going to this. Yeah, Jane Pesci Townsend was great in the role, thought I guess they'd need to have the two name stars to get more people interested.
