Malice, I think this was it:
"Kerri Butler...work it out. You know u wanna."
I don't really get it.
Read teh whole thing Taylor. It could easily be done if they didn't follow the plot in a linear fashion.
Lol, drama. Sorry, long day at work.
You're right. We really do need more threads exclusively devoted to Rock of Ages around here. I can't seem to find any...
"This is a thread about RoA not about the book work of CMIYC!"
This is actually a thread about Kerry Butler as well, and Kerry Butler is in Catch Me, so...
I know, it's not like we started talking about Wicked.
Which reminds me...who is everyone's favorite Elphaba?
"Kerri Butler...work it out. You know u wanna."
Millie - I take this comment to mean that he hopes/wants Kerry to work out her scheduling so she can join they show. Teasingly ending with you know u wanna do it (join our show).
Dolly - That makes sense. I wasn't really reading into it too much, but yeah sounds about right.
Bobby - I'll preface this by saying this has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with who is playing the role of Brenda, but your comment of "I think they're really missing out on the why and how of what he did. "
Have you read the book? Not the book to the musical. The biography of Frank Abagnale Jr?
Because if you had - this isn't a question. The main driving force behind what he did (despite what was in the movie) was to get women. He was a womanizer and loved the attention of women. That's the majority of the reason he did what he did and for as long as he did it.
So I don't think (I know I haven't seen it yet) that having all the womanizing stuff in defeats the purpose in indicating why he did what he did. And furthermore - having a love interest is a complication in his desire to not have any attachments and go where he wants to go and do what he wants to do.
It's still a musical afterall - which most of the time requires a love interest.
I'd like to see Kerry in ROA. I think she'd be great!
And it would be interesting to see her working with James Carpinello again since he dropped out of XANADU due to injuries.
I think Kerry Butler would be fine as Sherrie, bring her on.
I would see it again if she was cast.
she will KILL IT as Sherrie. She is hilarious. And it doesn't surprise me that she would want to do this show. People in the message board world love to crap on the show, but I know that ROA is actually rather beloved by other actors in the community. (check out the ROA PRODUCTION shorts. They are full of cameos by lots of cool actors who dig the show) It's a really fun gig, pure and simple. Who wouldn't want to act silly and sing rock songs 8 times a week? I would be very excited to see Kerry in this show.
The point of Brenda's character is that because of her Frank decides to stop living on the run and settle down, albeit with an untrue identity. If you eliminate her character Frank is going to continue to stay on the run. You'd have to alter Frank's journey in the second act to have the show actually have an ending otherwise. (not that the ending in there now makes a whole lot of sense, but at least there's a logical progression to the airport scene... then it just kinda falls apart)
Is there a possibility that Kerry could be temporarily replacing Lauren Molina as Regina?
They really must be close to signing someone for Sherrie. Savvy is finished on the 13th. There's a lot of stuff to learn in just a few weeks.
I have no info, but I bet Kerry is the new Sherrie and they'll announce soon.
There is 2.5 weeks until the 13th. She has time & I would assume that she is already signed if she is studying the show.
In my opinion, although I love "Rock of Ages" and "Kerry Butler," I don't see this being a good fit. Once again, the role is vocally challenging, and I hope it works out for her.

Anybody know how old Kerry Butler is? Amy was 38 and she couldn't handle it.
I think she's around the same age if not exactly the same.
Since when does age factor into being able to handle vocal demands? Shall we rattle off the list of people in their 60s and up who have vocal stamina that surpasses teenagers?
"Anybody know how old Kerry Butler is? Amy was 38 and she couldn't handle it."
Being 38 isn't the reason why she couldn't handle it.

This isn't legit, it's rock. Anyway Craig do those 60 year olds also have to pole dance?
