I hear the Devine Ms. Testa "wants" to do it very much.
Love huh.
Actually the reason Kerry didn't do the readings is more likely ONE LIFE TO LIVE where she has been on contract untill recently.

This literally reminds me of the day I discovered my beloved high school beauty queen had become a crack whore.
I love Kerry Butler. Love her. Adore her.
I loathe and despise the movie "Xanadu" and the dead horse it was dragged in on, with every fibre of my being.
I hate people badmouthing shows before they open, but I am using up my "get out of naysayer jail" card to suggest this is an enormous white elephant in the making and it's going to drag my favorite (well, next to Sutton Foster) star down with it.
I love Kerry Butler & I'm glad she's coming back to us, but does anyone know what's going on with OOS? I was under the impression that that show would be coming soon as well.
*Best Wishes to Kerry* I'm sure she'll be great.
As one might say "The only thing better than hairspray...is KERRY BUTLER."

Untill OOS gets a better director, nothing is happening.
XANADU ONSTAGE --> proof that God has a sense of humour.
How long until the first theatre critic starts postilating "Xanadu--a Xana-don't?"
"Kerry is 35 and will be 36 in June. Jane is 38. Not much of a difference there."
So, if that's too "old" for XANADU, then what about Butler playing a teen-ager in OOS? At this rate, by the time that is getting on Butler will be too...
I was replying to the poster who said Krakowski was too old by showing that there is only a three year age difference between her and Butler. I don't think either Butler or Krakowski is "too old" per se for Xanadu.
That's not my point. I was being sarcastic because there seemed to be some concern about age problems playing a role in XANADU but no comments on Butler playing a teenager in OOS, which in my opinion is more of a stretch no matter how young looking she is.
I actually agree with you about that, especially since it doesn't look like we'll be seeing a production of it in New York any time soon. If Kerry is 40 by the time the show makes it to Broadway/Off-Broadway, they should recast with someone age appropriate.
Haha, I am still blown away that this is getting produced on Broadway. Who in their right mind thought this would be a successful theatre production? Although I might just have to see the darn thing when I am in town for the Tony Awards. I mean, train wrecks are often fun to look at But it is exciting that Kerry Butler will be back on stage.
I really happy that she coming back to broadway, but I have to say that i'm a bit worried that the show won't really have a "name" above it to draw more people in. That was why I loved the idea of Jane or Kristen, because they have a fanbase outside of the Broadway bubble.
Having said that, I wish her the best of luck, and look forword to seeing the show.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu
I for one love Butler and am happy to see her returning to the New York stage regardless of what she's in (even if it is... "Xanadu.")
"As long as Cheyenne is in it, I'll be happy."
Considering Jackson has been out in LA working like hell to get cast in a pilot, I doubt he's doing the show (considering, if he does find one and it gets picked up, he'd have to start filming it around July.)
I wonder if we'll be seeing a re-release of the movie prior to the show's opening. Might add to the PR value, especially if the stage show is supposed to be "camp".
JUNE 26 IS MY BDAY!
HELLZ YEAH!
"Considering Jackson has been out in LA working like hell to get cast in a pilot"
Honey, Cheyenne and thousands of other actors. And even IF he gets cast in one, do you know how many pilots DON'T get picked up every year?

I know very well the small number of pilots that get greenlit. My point is that if Jackson already had commited to do the show he wouldn't be taking a chance on getting another job that would force him to pull out. That would result in some serious contract violations on both ends..
It's not uncommon for actors' contracts to have "outs" for higher-paying, higher-exposure jobs.
