Yeah Kerry! I am so excited for her. She will hopefully be a knock-out!

Ah, thanks.
Another show that never panned out.
Doug Carter Beane said in a recent interview that the show is an extremely tight fit at the Hayes.
I'll agree with Bennett on this one - a very poorly handled experience thus far. Worse than the Broadway transfers of Jay Johnson and Little Dog (which, based on their reviews, should still be running).

Well, I'm surprised to see that Kerry and Jane are so close in age. I guess that just means Kerry has always "read" younger to me, that's all.

My wish to see this died when Krakowski left the project. Good luck to Kerry Butler though...Good to see her back on Broadway.

btw.. I wonder if they're going to do the famous windblown hair shot for the poster/ads or whatnot. Come on - you all know that classic Olivia Newton John photo that's was on the cover of the VHS..

Yeah, OOS definitely isn't dead. I wonder, however, how this effects it...

I think she suits the role. I'm curious to see how the writers adapted and/or expanded this material for theatre. The movie's plot is a pretty thin one but I'm a sucker for fantasy and being inspired by a muse is a nice premise.
I'm more familiar with the movie's soundtrack, co-written by Jeff Lynne of ELO and John Farrar. The songs were the movie's strongest asset. It will be interesting to see how they were adapted.

I never said it was dead - I said it didn't pan out. Perhaps I should have added "yet" to my comment.

Congrats to Ms. Butler. I look forward to seeing her back on Broadway where she belongs!

This could really go either way.. it could either be wild campy fun which gets a cult following; or it could be the complete opposite.
Time will tell. One thing's for certain - it will be fun to hear those songs performed live. And if Tony Roberts winds up playing the Gene Kelly role, I'll definitely look forward to "Whenever You're Away From Me" - which is one of my faves from the soundtrack.

<------ Is this the famous photo you're referring to, Craig?
LOL
Unfortunately, Kerry Butler doesn't have the name recognition to seel tickets, but further casting isn't official yet. I'm still just as excited about the show and if it begins June 26, then I have a real shot at actually seeing it this summer.
YAY!!

So the tourists can see a recognizable name. it will either be:
"Xanadu... I saw that movie in the 80s...lets go see it"
or
"Xanadu.....AHHHHHHHH!"

The only way I'll see it is if Mmes. Testa and Hoffman sign on.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
