"The New York Times reports that Kerry Washington, who has been seen on screen in 'The Last King of Scotland' and 'Ray,' has been cast in the world premiere of David Mamet's Race, which is scheduled to begin previews Nov. 17 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
The cast will also feature the previously announced Emmy Award winners Richard Thomas and James Spader.
Race, by the author of American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross, Speed-the-Plow, November and The Cryptogram, will officially open on Broadway Dec. 6.

So I'm guessing that this isn't the show he wrote for Patti.
UNLESS, there's a big lead female role that hasn't been announced yet?

Ugh, I think she's a terrible actress. I guess they go for stunt casting over substance these days.

Washington was absolutely magnetizing in the film "Ray" opposite Jamie Foxx.
Here's hoping her talent extends to the stage.
