Kinky Boots yesterday

I saw Kinky Boots for the first time yesterday (I see about one show per months for MANY years) and was blown away by the performances---especially Billy Porter. I did not expect to be as amazed by any single performance---but he is outstanding! (as obviously, most people feel---definitely deserving of the Tony award). It was an extra bonus when we realized that Harvey Fierstein was in the audience---just a great experience!

Yes one of the times I was there - Cyndi Lauper was in the audience. I kept wanting to watch her watching the show - instead of watching the show myself.

I was there last night too! I wasn't aware Harvey was in the audience (I heard Susan Lucci was from Twitter)

It was everything I hoped, waited, and paid (comparatively) big bucks for.

One thing I did notice is, while Billy Porter was practically perfect in every way, his voice seemed a bit strained last night (moreso than his natural rasp)

I noticed the rasp also---especially in his speaking/slow music voice---wasn't sure if it was his usual voice, since I've never seen him perform. (but he's an incredible performer!) I can't wait to return!

I was at the matinee performance--that's the one that Harvey Fierstein attended. Susan Lucci (and you) were at the evening performance?
