Hell, throw in a new revival of GYPSY. Plenty of other people have played the role badly.

I love Kirstie and find the hate against her for committing the sin of being a former hottie who got fat sort of depressing.

She'd make a great Martha in VIRGINIA WOOLF.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Borstal, I totally agree that a lot of people do hate her for that. I like Alley and think she can be a great comedienne, however, my dislike of her has more to do with the way she went about marketing herself as "fat" and that period where she just kept doing one embarrassing after the next to get media attention. I thought FAT ACTRESS was particularly pathetic, not because she's fat or because she was making a show about it, but because I felt she herself hated fat people. Oh well. I do think she could make an impressive Broadway debut in the right vehicle, and I'm very curious as to what that would be.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
