was her first album considered successful?
She seems to have dabbled in a lot of things but not really come away as a big success in any of them.
Don't kill me Wicked fans, but the show hasn't exactly noticed her gone (at least at the box office)

Before Wicked, Chenoweth was considered a princess of flops. It was never really her fault- she always got good reviews- but let's face it: most shows on Broadway fail. She was just a victim of those odds.
As for Let Yourself Go, I have no idea how well it sold. As I said before, I love it, but really, how well does any Broadway artist's solo CD sell?
By your standards, Spooky, a lot of well-respected Broadway actors would be "unsuccessful."

it's the reason they're Broadway stars as opposed to being celebrities. Most people don't stay on Broadway for fame or money.
I should have put the word "financial" in before "success"
I'm just curious as to whether or not Chenoweth is considered a money maker. She's got talent, that's for sure.

Actually, I don't think she would be too bad. I was introducing one of my friends to Wicked one fine day, and she had NEVER heard Cheno....anyway, we were listening to Popu-ular! and my bud says to me:
"Hey, is this girl a country singer? She sure sounds like one!"
I was mortified at the time, but now that I think of it, it would be really neat!

Posted: 12/8/04 at 7:18pmAfter Wicked, I think she'd definitely be considered by producers as a box office draw, though not as strong as stars like Bernadette or Audra. And while Bway people make a good living, she probably made a month's worth of Wicked salary with one episode of West Wing. I was floored when I learned that SAG members earn the EXACT amount of pay when an episode reruns on network tv as they did for shooting the original episode. Residuals are insane!
