I saw this last night and really enjoyed it. It's not the greatest concert I've ever seen on Broadway, but it is certainly enjoyable. My quibble is that it seems so scattered (and yet, I also liked that quality, to a degree).

There is nothing cohesive to hold any of the songs together. It seems, just a collection of whatever Ms. Chenoweth feels like singing and there's nothing wrong with that, at all. It just makes the proceedings, at times, feel a little 'disjointed', for lack of a better word.

Ms. Chenoweth, certainly, knocked, more than a few, out of the park.

Upon This Rock, which, she performed with the Pace University choir, was a definite highlight, for which, many people stood. The Heart of the Matter (the Don Henley song), which is a favorite song, of mine, was touching, as she related it to the Newtown shooting. Bring Him Home was unexpectedly moving, but I think Dolly Parton's Little Sparrow was the highlight of the evening, for me. I didn't want it to end.

I might have enjoyed another song with Alan Cumming, instead of so much patter, but he was charming and it was amusing.

I'm glad she ventured away from showtunes to show her abilities and range.

The band was wonderful, especially on Little Sparrow, where they all moved down toward the front of the stage.

I would definitely catch this, if you can. I'm not sure it's worth every penny of the $167 price, but there are discounts around and it's certainly worth your time.

I love when people freak out over Dance 10, Looks 3 and not Paul's graphic monologue.   I saw the last tour seated next to a Father and his 3 children ages maybe 6-10.  Was so uncomfortable. The Father didn't even seem to be paying attention.

I suppose it was, but Megan Hilty has replaced her, so I'm sure they're rewriting whatever they had to make it more belty. Tammy Faye was more of a belter, anyway. At least, from what I've heard of her.

Megan has not replaced Kristin in the Tammy Faye project. Kristin has been mentioning it repeatedly again throughout the last year or so, most recently during her album promo when she said they are waiting for a new draft of the book to continue to move forward with the show and that they might do another reading early next year... or something along those lines.

She is very much still attached to it.

Agreed. I had the same reaction. People can be so judgmental, mean and full of themselves on these boards. There are so many questions I don't ask and opinions I don't express because I'd rather not be smugly told how wrong and stupid I am.

Seriously?   You're on a Broadway message board and you used that title?

The correct title is "Dance: 10; Looks: 3".

Where'd you get your title?  From the Broadway soundtrack?

Geez!

Shaking head---Geez!--Some People need to be less offended !

Settle, as 'we' can actually say here what we know without being yelled at.

You offended me reading your response to BrodyFosse123

It is a famous story of how the title Tits and Ass was changed to Dance 10, Looks 3 that any lover of theatre history should know.

I enjoy theater history but I'm no expert. Why couldn't you simply explain that it's a famous story and why it's part of theater history, in a kind, or at least civil, educational sort of way, instead of slamming the original poster? People here, some, at least, take so much pleasure in making others feel stupid. Like I said, I'd love to ask more questions and offer more opinions, but life is tough enough without being beaten up in a space that should be fun, entertaining and educational -- sans snark.

Don't sweat it, Pacific Northwest. The poster Brody Fosse is just a very rude person. There are about four or five of those on this board, the rest are OK. I hope you will continue to post.

And Mildred, there are no special requirements for being a theater lover. I would wager most theater lovers are not aware of a backstage anecdote from Chorus Line. It is a good story, though!

Caught this yesterday afternoon and found the positives outweighed the negatives...

Really enjoyed her take on Don Henley's The Heart of the Matter and her rendition of Moon River...

Agree fully with the point mentioned by wolfwriter2, there's nothing cohesive holding these songs together...

At the end of the day, she is a Broadway star and reminds the audience why...Her voice is stunning, her smile infectious and its very difficult not to fall in love with her...

I won the lottery and the seat is in right side orchestra row L. Pretty decent seat - especially for the price. Had a wonderful night and really enjoyed the show!

I don't fully understand the comments about it not feeling cohesive.  It's her love letter to Broadway.  They're songs she likes and wanted to sing. That's the cohesion.

Sirius Satellite radio has a Sinatra channel which plays the familiar standards by Frank, Ella, Nat King Cole, etc. The channel regularly broadcasts an hour called "picking favorites," where a guest plays his or her favorite Sinatra songs, as well as favorite songs by others, and a couple of his or her own songs.

KC had the honor this week and used the occasion to plug her album. But also her favorite Sinatra songs (her Dad was a big fan so she grew up to Sinatra): the torch song "I'm a Fool to Want You," "Fly Me to the Moon," and Cole Porter's great "I've Got You Under My Skin," featuring the famous trombone solo as arranged by Nelson Riddle. A bit oddly, she promised that she was going to sing the Sinatra anthem "My Way."

Other favorite songs she played included "Skylark," from her own album, "Moon River," Andy Williams, Dionne Warwick's recording of "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," Gershwin's "I've Got a Crush on You," again from her album, and Streisand's torch song, "Make the Man Love Me." She also paid earnest respect to Linda Ronstadt, who is touring, but only to converse. She is probably done singing in public.

I'm going on Thursday. I saw Kristin at Carnegie Hall and she was enjoyable if not memorable. From what I've been hearing, this show may well be memorable.

I could not agree with you more. She sang songs that mean something to her...cohesion.

Guests this week so far have been Robert Jason Brown on Wednesday and Sierra Boggess, who sang Part of your World (sorry, I just corrected this from a post below) at the Lunt again on Thursday

Her final song "Smile" was particularly effective last night given this week's news..especially when she sang the last verse without a mike and just sang her heart out.

I was also there last night.  A friendly correction to the previous post:  Sierra Boggess sang "Part of Your World," not "Under the Sea."  Completely agree about Kristin's rendition of "Smile."  It was so poignant, especially for this week.

She said Scott Ellis was in the audience and also Patty, her original Lucy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.  I may have misheard the latter, but am pretty sure that's what she said.

Kristin sounded glorious and was so sweet and funny but there were also many touching moments as well.

The house looked full.

Thank for the friendly correction about The Little Mermaid. May I offer one of my own? ILANA (Levine) was in the audience last night, who indeed played Lucy in You're a Good Man CB, when Kristin played Patty.

Yes the house was almost full...as it's been for every show...

If anyone is thinking of going to see Kristin tonight, the KC1 promotion code still works and gets you $99 tickets that otherwise are selling for $167.

The front balcony is a very good location for $99. There is really no penalty for choosing the extreme sides; little difference from the middle. Choose the row closest to the front instead of the most centered. Good seats available right now.

Don't bother to thank me.

I was lucky enough to win the lottery for this afternoon's show. I share the sentiments of many others on here - Kristin a true gem, and this concert was just great from beginning to end. This was a very rough week for me (as I am sure it was for many others on here), and seeing and hearing Ms. Chenoweth sing these songs was just what I needed.

She was so graceful, charismatic, and just a pleasure to watch. The only mention of the election was towards the beginning of the show. And all she said was that, "I want everyone to leave their worries and the events of this past week outside, and just enjoy the next two hours." Kristin Chenoweth made it possible for everyone to smile and feel happy again, even if it was just for two hours.

Every word she spoke and song she sang evoked a message of hope and encouragement for everyone to get out and make the world a better place. This is one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend catching this tonight or tomorrow night if you can. It is not to be missed!

bwayphreak, it sounds like a great show!  Where was the lottery seat located?

^ It was a great show! And I had mid mezzanine row C on the far side - the seat against the wall. It was a great view!

Friday night's special guest was Andrew Lippa (wasn't there so no details)...and tonight was Kelli O'Hara. They shared memories of the 2015 Tony Awards and they sang the song Oklahoma together (their home state).  I am wondering who if anyone will be there for the last show tomorrow...

Richard Jay Alexander said it would be Andy Karl tonight.

Was there a guest at the matinee yesterday? And does anyone know what Lippa sang? Did they do My New Philosophy, like at Kristin's Carnegie Hall show`?

Anyone there for the last show? How did it go...Any special guests? I saw a photo with Kristin and Matthew Morrison on Matthew's Instagram account but I assumed he was there as a guest, not on stage.

Was there for her last show. It was absolutely outstanding. Andy Karl was her guest - he sang a song from Groundhog Day. Surprised they didn't duet. She also had the choir from alma mater sing two songs with her, they were fantastic. She definitely changed things up for last night's performance - songs previous posters mentioned were not in the show. Amazing night - she's really a fantastic performer.
