For how long will Kristy Cates be playing "Elphaba" in the Chicago Cast of Wicked? Will I be able to see her in August? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Kristy's last show with the Chicago company is October 22nd. Stacie Morgain Lewis also leaves that day.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

It is totally irresponsible to announce that Stacie or anyone else, for that matter, is leaving Wicked in October. If you want to speculate or pass along unfounded rumors then say so, to pass it along like you know something on the inside, then keep those comments to yourself.. or state the source of your information.

come on.

The source of my information is Kristy. She told me in an email that her last day in the show is October 22nd and that Stacie is leaving that day as well.

Last I heard, some one mentioned that Maya Days was apparently doing it. That might just get me to the windy city. Girl can SANG.

Maya Days is not doing the Chicago production of Wicked. She has a two year old son she won't leave behind.

Who are you any way?! how would you know whats fact and rumors..

It is a fact that Kristy is leaving October 22, she also told me when I saw her after a performance, Im not sure about Stacie, but I do know that the only production of Wicked Maya Days would do, is the london production, because Maya is VERY BIG in london, so hopefully that could happen... but Kristy's last performance is October 22nd unless she decides to extend, so we'll see, but its not a rumor about her last date, so dont accuse people of spreading rumors until you know the facts..

I think it's time for Kristy to leave the show. She's been doing it for almost 3 years now. Don't you think she's a bit sick of it?

i do know that she said she is not going to be doing it on broadway after chicago,, especially not right away, because like they said, she has been doing it for 3 years and she needs a break, but she said she would def consider doing it on broadway if they offered it to her sometime in the future, but def not right away.

The London production will not need an Elphaba for quit some time. After Idina leaves, Kerry Ellis is taking over. She's said in interviews she signed a one year contract, so it will be quite awhile before London needs an Elphie.

yea i know... but i was just saying that the london production would be the only production Maya would do, if she ever did wicked... she wouldnt do the broadway production... if she was ever offered to do wicked the only place she would do it would be in london,

She'd do the Broadway production if it was offered to her. She won't tour or anything (because of her son), however.
