"Broadway favorites Leslie Kritzer (A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde), Barbara Walsh (Company, Falsettos) and Ann Harada (Avenue Q, 9 to 5) are among the cast for the upcoming New York Musical Theater Festival production of Judas & Me, the new musical by the Tony-nominated team of Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar (The Wedding Singer). The show, directed by Jeremy Dobrish and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Dan Knechtges, will play the American Theatre of Actors Chernuchin Theater...
In addition to Kritzer (as the angel Gabriel), Walsh (as Rheba Iscariot) and Harada (as Elke Iscariot), the cast of Judas & Me includes Nick Blaemire (Cry-Baby) as Judas Iscariot, Doug Kreeger (Rooms) as Jesus, Nikki Snelson (Legally Blonde) as Mary Magdalene, Dennis Stowe (Shrek, The Wedding Singer) as Marcus and Jennifer Laura Thompson (Urinetown, Wicked) as the Virgin Mary.
Notes on the new musical comedy state: 'It's tough keeping up with the Joneses when your neighbor's kid is the Messiah. Consumed by jealousy, Rheba Iscariot pushes her son Judas to be better than Jesus?and we all know how well that turns out...'"

Oh wow, I was not expecting Jennifer Laura Thompsom to return to the stage any time soon.
I also wonder if this means anything for the future of FIRST WIVES CLUB, though it might be a case of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN where they are still planning to come to NY but not till next year.
Always nice to see Kritzer and Harada get stage work, though I wouldn't advertise the fact that it's written by the people involved behind the hot mess called THE WEDDING SINGER.
wow between this and Last Smoker in America, Im getting so excited for NYMF casting
I would hardly call The Wedding Singer "a hot mess". A excellent work of musical theatre it ain't, but it's hardly disastrous.
Snelson as Mary Magdalene, should be interesting.
Oh this is great news! Got a ticket for the very first performance this morning, without knowing anything about this cast. Now I'm even more excited!

of all the shows in the NYMF that had some song demos to listen to JUDAS $ ME was my favorite
Thanks so much for this info. You made me get off my duff, commit to a date and grab a ticket. Kritzer just makes me happy to be alive and a part of this biz we call show. Cheers!
