This arrived in my Email this morning:
MARC KUDISCH: THE LOWER DEPTHS - IN DEFENSE OF THE BARITONE VOICE
JANUARY 15TH CONCERT DATE POSTPONED
DUE TO UNEXPECTED CIRCUMSTANCES
NEW DATE AND LOCATION TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON
"New York: Producer, Scott Siegel announced today that the highly anticipated concert event MARC KUDISCH: THE LOWER DEPTHS - IN DEFENSE OF THE BARITONE VOICE, which was scheduled for January 15th at 8 PM at The Town Hall, has been temporarily postponed due to unexpected circumstances related to the recent blizzard that crippled New York. A new date and location are expected to be announced soon. Refunds will be sent to ticket buyers in due course."
Very dissapointed - anybody have any more specific details as to what happened?
Could be that the original location suffered some damage. A leak or something?
That's an interesting possibility...hadn't thought of that.

that's a clever bit of spin ... the recent blizzard wasn't crippling, and the crippling blizzard wasn't recent!!!

they finally realized that no one really does care anymore about baritones.

three possible reasons:
1. lack of interest/ticket sales
2. damage to the venue...that's happened in Albany...A Bette Midler concert was cancelled and rescheduled several years back because of snow on the roof and the potential for collapse.
3. Kudisch is stuck in travel hell limbo due to the storm.
Marc sent out a message with a code for $25 seats for anywhere in the house a few days ago so sadly I'm guessing this is due to lack of sales. It really saddens me because I've waited for a solo Kudisch concert for years now.
Marc has one helluva voice AND he is an 'entertaining' performer. Some of my friends were attending. Too Bad.
You know spaces are not cheap and when you put time and money into a project and get hit with a weather demon.., it can really hurt. Been there, done that a few years ago.
Here's hoping Marc will get a second chance under better
circumstances.
That's too bad-Marc is great. Why doesn't he just play Birdland, Metropolitan Room, Joe's Pub or Feinsteins? Smaller venues.
Maybe you should be his manager.
Marc at the Metropolitan Room, please. Hate the ambience, layout and over-amplification of Joe's Pub and the overpriced everything at Feinsteins.
Marc just posted that a new date for the concert will be announced that week.
He posted this video with Seth Rudetsky as a preview:
