Great casting.
Chess Casting
I hope I get to see this!!!
What a fabulous cast!!! I got to see Jill in The Woman in White and she was great. Jeremy was one of the best Rogers in Rent! Terrific news!!!
I've been wanting to see a version of Chess FOREVER!! That concert DVD was the biggest treat -- and now this! I am sooooo excited that my hometown theatre is taking this on.
I wonder, though, which "version" they'll be using. According to Tim Rice -- that concert version is supposed to be the "official" one now ... and I'm hoping that's the one they will be staging.
This is the most uninspired casting yet...glad I only have to travel to DC once this year (for SUNSET BOULEVARD).
What would you consider to be inspired casting?
Yul Brynner, Joan Diener, and Russ Thacker.
I've just never been a fan of Jill Paice...and Morton is bland (or at least he is in SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM - I didn't see TABOO). I was hoping for better leads...but considering that Eric Schaeffer is the director, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
"Inspired casting" was Florence Lacey in SUNSET BOULEVARD. But yes, Brynner, Diener and Thacker were all brilliant in HOME SWEET HOMER - too bad it flopped.

Love Jeremy Kushnier. Don't love Chess. Live in California.
But have a free flight from Southwest rewards.
Hmm.
are his rediculous mutton chops gone? If so i'm in.
love paice and chess.
I wish I had seen HSH; I used to know Russ, and he played me some tapes of the show once. It sounded fun. Poor guy was cursed with far too many flops for someone so talented.
Where is Russ Thacker now?? He needs to come back to Broadway (so I can get him to sign my ME JACK YOU JILL and HOME SWEET HOMER playbills).
It's been several years since I last saw him. He was still living in NY at the time, but had suffered a mild stroke. He was also focusing more on writing than performing. A smart, funny, vital guy.

LOL! I should hope so; he didn't have them in Jersey Boys.

I understand that and kinda agree, but Jeremy Kushnier is truly terrific and perfect for the role.
Finally a decent production in DC. I wonder what version they will use though. Hope it is the London one. Anyway I will see this.
