LA has a New Broadway Cabaret! (This Friday Night!)

The amazing performers will be Luba Mason (fresh off her stint as Velma Kelly in CHICAGO on Broadway) and Jennifer Leigh Warren (An incredible Broadway talent from LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, BIG RIVER and MARIE CHRISTINE).

The cabaret is called THE SPOTLIGHT and it begins this Friday night (June 2nd) at 9pm. The location of the cabaret will be at the TEN20 Lounge (located inside the BelAge Hotel) in West Hollywood.

$10 entrance fee.

lol... there is no drink minimum!! :)

but i think it is probably a good idea to make a reservation if you want dinner. although you can come just for the show too.

Hey I am in New York and some people were talking about this new night!!! It sounds like it is going to be a really special thing, like nothing LA has EVER seen. I kind of want to come back to LA to check it out!!

Please let me know how it is!!!!

BTW - LUBA is the best! LOVE HER!

I doubt it. I say just go...they are not going to check. Have a great time!!! How lucky are you to see LUBA!!! And in such a great space. Stuff like this never happens in LA.

Does anyone know if there will ba an open mic aspect to this? Like if people just show up and want to sing, can they? I love that!!!

You don't have to be 21 to get in, because the Ten20 is also a restaurant. So no need to worry if you're under 21. You can most definitely attend, you just won’t be able to order a cocktail of course. I suggest reserving a table and ordering some food.

If the LA Broadway community comes out and supports this special night, then it will definitely become a monthly event!!!

By the way, nobody has mentioned the WOW-factor of Jennifer Leigh Warren.

I saw her several times in BIG RIVER and she took the roof off of the Eugene O'Neil Theatre each night with "How Blessed We Are." A monster talent in a small package.

Not to mention, she was one of the original trio girls in Little Shop.

No kidding Popular!!! This is a major WOW. But JLW rocks!

We need to try and get as many people as possible into Ten20 tomorrow to be sure this happens EVERY month like got-a-light said.

I heard that if this goes well there will be othe big Broadway talent making the trek to LA to be a part of this....how cool would that be?!?!?!?

Unfortunately it's very hard to get people out for things like this in LA...especially since there are so many shows/plays/concerts competing for one's time, not to mention TV and the movies.

I hope that for once something like this succeeds- JLW and Luba are incredible talents and Gerry Steinbach is considered by many to be the best musical director on the West Coast.

I will be there on Friday so please come and say hello.

Jennifer and Luba are the two performers. No additional performers are planned, but i guess as with everything in life.... anything is possible.

I really hope the LA theater community supports this amazing night. As a result, Broadway performers (in NY and LA) will see that there is a place for them to perform in a Cabaret setting on the left coast.

Why should NY have all the fun?! Lol :)

and 1183 is correct... THE SPOTLIGHT is in talks with more amazing Broadway performers for the future!
