I know someone who went to Linda Eder's concert last year and she said she was prepping for her title role in the musical Camille Claudel (sp?) to appear this past spring, but it just recently had something like a workshop. Has anyone heard any news of an up-coming broadway show? Because Linda is amazing and I would love to see her in an actual broadway role. Plus, her song "Gold" is definately needed to be heard live by this fan.
I just read somewhere today that it is coming to B'way. Someone correct me (I know you will!) but I think it is next season. I saw her in the pre-B'way tour of J&H. She then came back to Denver after the tour for a concert as a thank you to Denver for being the city with the largest attendance on the tour. She has since been back 2 times. Last year she sang Gold in concert. But...you need to hear her do "Don't Rain on My Parade" live. It will blow you away.
Um... It was supposed to come to Broadway last season, but didn't make it.
Instead, after a tryout at Goodspeed, it will have a reading at the National Alliance of Musical Theater festival in October, after which things usually run regionally before coming in (if they come in at all).
Despite the Frank/Linda marital drama, it is my understanding she is still the star of the project... I didn't see it, so I don't know if that is a good thing or not!
