Posted: 3/17/04 at 12:37pmI just saw the LION KING 1 1/2 and it was witty and hilarious! the best part was when Timon and Pumbaa busted out into "Sunrise Sunset" in slow motion, it was hystarical!

Posted: 3/17/04 at 1:49pmOh! I saw it! I loved that part! I didn't even want to watch it, and I had been silent through most of the film. Simba started to walk away and Nathan went into the "Is this the little boy..." sequence and I busted out laughing! My entire family was like: "what? what's so funny???!" I could barely get the words "fiddler on the roof" out of my mouth. Of course my family didn't get it, but it was awesome. This movie is a must for Nathan Lane fans!

Posted: 3/17/04 at 2:57pmYes. And what there was of the new songs were pretty funny too. I loved the additional lines for "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" that were cut from the first movie and the "When I was a young mercat" sequence that was also cut from the first film.

Posted: 3/17/04 at 11:35pmit definitely has a lot of adult humor in it- I was actually pleasantly surprised by just how funny it was... I love when they stumble upon the hyena's doing their nazi march during the original Be Prepared number..

How did I not know the Lion King was based on Hamlet? I'm working on that show right now! It does make a lot of sense now *duh*.
I was forced to watch the Lion King 2 while babysitting. Before the actual movie though, they had a little thing about the Broadway Lion King...I started freaking out when I saw Heather Headley (I really scared the poor kid) and I almost cried when they had a shot w/ Jason Raize...
I want to see Lion King 1 1/2 now!

Posted: 3/19/04 at 7:35pmOMG!!!! I never knew Lion King was based on Hamlet either@! Please explain...was that on purpose? I guess so, it is so obvious now! And what's more, I am also working on Hamlet! Mind you, it is a high school one-act play contest show, but I'm playing Hamlet, and it's gonna be a great creative production. Awesome! You learn something new everyday...

I'm thinking this through...so obviously Scar is Claudius, Mufasa is Hamlet's father, Simba is Hamlet, are Timon and Pumbaa Rosencrantz & Guildenstern?
I think that was definitely done on purpose!
Rentaholic, what contest is that for? My school is preparing a one-act for a drama festival as well...PM me!
