Do people stage door for this show? It doesn't seem to me like it's one of those shows with a large part of its audience that stage doorers. Do the actors come out? Also, is the stage door on the same floor as the theatre or on the street? Thank you!
No, the actors live there. Just like your teachers live at school.
Yes, the actors AND the crew at THE LION KING do leave the theatre (not an urband myth) and the stage door exit is in the alley/walkway across from the Minskoff Theatre's lobby. The black door is marked 'Stage Door'.
I've done it twice, it is in the brightly lit breezeway when you exit the theatre (so not technically out on the street)
both times there were a few people there, but some people come out rather quickly so by then they are people also coming out of the theatre and you know how people are, as soon as they see people getting playbills signed all of a sudden the crowd grows. The actors with more makeup take a bit longer to make it out obviously.

I meant come out through the stage door because I've stage doored shows at the Mark Taper and the Ahmanson and stayed for a long time and not all of the actors came out. Alice Ripley sometimes waits until everyone has left before she leaves the theatre. And I've heard that the Mark Taper has a private Entrance/Exit directly into the parking lot so actors can avoid crowds.
I guess thats up to the particular actor, but the 2 times I went I was able to see all of the principals.
Also with the way that theatre is set up above ground level, I am not sure they have any choice than to leave through stage door, it is unlikely they would leave through the house
