My family and I went to see "Little Mermaid" last night. There were eight of us ranging age 5 to 71. We are your average theatergoers and we thought it was amazing!! Beautiful stage, Disney Music and Broadway Magic!!! Amazing!! Faith Prince...Love her!! Norm Lewis...fabulous voice!! Rogelio Douglas, Jr. ... I can't believe this is his debut! He was my favorite!! So entertaining!!

Toward the end of the second act, they stopped the show for about 5-10 minutes stating technical difficulty. The lights came up during this time. Just wondering, does this sort of thing happen often? It was the first time I have ever seen it. With all of the rigging and mechanical stuff, I'm sure anything can stop working at any given time.

When I saw it last August, the curtain came down promptly after "Under the Sea (reprise)," and the lights also came on. Everyone thought it was intermission, but they came on the speakers and said that they were having technical difficulties. It was probably 7-10 minutes before the show started up again.

I saw this on Halloween (I know, I know...) and right after Daughters of Triton, King Triton's moving throne got stuck somehow going offstage and made this huge crashing noise, and Sierra heelied out to sing The World Above, but just stood there, and the curtain came down, so we had to stop.

If memory serves right, it happened at another moment later on too, perhaps around Under the Sea. Or I was just thinking the people on those columns flapping their "costumes" would end up crashing to the ground due to a technical difficulty and die in front of me, and that was NOT something I paid to see.

Either way, close plz and bring Aladdin to the stage to ruin next. :]

Everywhere like such as.

On a similar note, last night's performance of Mary Poppins was nearly cancelled due to the fact that somehow the fire alarm was triggered setting off all the sprinklers, and they weren't sure if all of the automation electrics were going to work alright.

Oh wow! When did the sprinklers start going off? Did the water damage any of the sets?

Sometime in the morning I believe, but apparently they were only on for 5 min. They were mostly concerned with all the automation equipment in the stage.

I would be scared sh*tless if I was told to go on an automated piece for the performance knowing that something may go horribly wrong!
But anywho, I'm actually shocked that nothing was damaged! Water can be scenery's #1 enemy...
