2010 Tony Performances

May 25, 2010 — 12:05:38 PM

Lol, "Henry Ford" was complete sarcasm, Steven. So, are you saying this will be their Tony Performance?

Ragtime should do an abridged version of "New Music", I'm obsessssed. Or "Henry Ford"!

2010 Tony Performances

I couldn't seem to find one of those riveting "WHAT WILL _____ PERFORM AT THE TONYZ" threads, so I thought I'd start one. Has anyone announced yet/what do you think they'll all perform? And what will happen with those closed revivals? They all don't have an "I Will Never Leave You", that's for sure!

They saw a nose. They saw a curl. It's a healthy, lovely, perfect, little -- boy. And scott68, keep up the A+ genetic research! Wow... guess your hair really is eating away at your brain.

re: VMA Side Story

Aug 26, 2009 — 10:05:10 PM

I just rewatched it again. I was shocked at how they all sounded utterly horrific, but I think it was the sound designer's fault more than anything. AutoTune was way overused and it gives a horrible sound to everyone not wanting to sound like T-Pain. Taylor and Katy have at least decent voices. But ironically, Brand's "Tony" sounded the best. See what I mean? I think the other major problem was the tempo! The whole thing was extremely drawn out, and I lost track of Miranda's muddled lyrics as...

Birdland Tickets/Seating Help

Aug 24, 2009 — 6:47:10 PM

At Birdland, is there a huge difference between the Premium Seating Area and the Regular? I checked the seating chart but it says "not to scale" and I'm unsure how it is in person. I was hoping someone who's been there could tell me if paying the extra price to be "closer" to the stage/performers is worth it. Thanks!

re: Diana Degarmo Stepping into the Toxic Avenger

I have been dying to see Diana in ANYTHING since I missed her in Hairspray. I'm so glad I have another chance to hear her voice in person! Eager to catch her during 20at20!! :P

re: MTV VMA's go to the west side ( story that is)

Aug 16, 2009 — 7:46:32 PM

Wow, Taylor Swift sounds terrible! You can distinctly hear where they used sound editing software to maintain her tone. Yikes man, I thought she was a "good singer"?! The Cobra thing was okay, but it was a little hokey for me since I know which "subway station" they used to shoot it... Let's just pray Neil Patrick Harris reprises his 11 o'clock number at the VMA's!! Ha.

re: Cast recordings - commission

Aug 16, 2009 — 7:37:13 PM

I'm pretty sure the performers don't get any royalties, and they're paid a lump sum initially to record. However, I'm unsure, but it definitely varies depending on the record company doing the production of the CDs. Also, composers definitely get royalties based on their ASCAP/BMI contracts. And of course, the record company would try to keep as much profit as possible... Hope this helps!
