Balla, I love your passion for the show, hopefully ONE day you are gonna "git" to be Audrey II...I like the cd recording much more than I did the actual production and with the bonus music I'm in heaven. You know it's funny the more I know about this current version the more I connect my problems with it to Jerry Zaks direction. In the Times piece earlier this week, he said something that had me kicking my desk and yelling at my assistants(nah, I treat them nice!)..he said, "First off I changed Seymour to be a bit handsome so you could understand how Audrey could be attracted to him." WHAT?!?!..isn't that the whole nature of the show, that a lowly and outcast nebbish must do something way beyond the norm and downright awful to win his beloved's affection? If he was attractive to begin with let's say just goodnight and I'll meet you at the local saloon. Ok, enough ranting, all in all a happy da ythat you've gottten a cast recording you like...and if you ever get a chance listen to the "italian" show cd, very funny and wonderfully sung!

Well, Sheek, I would like to be Seymour. I am actually a tenor, but have a very good range, allowing me to play roles like Papa Ge and a Policeman in Pirates, and things of that nature. My friends say that I would be adorable as Seymour....maybe they were just joshin' me. But Seymour is one of my dream roles. It always has been since I was 5 or so. But I would take Audrey II as well. Although I think I would have more of an Levi Stubbs or Billy Porter take on the role. Hell, I would want to play ALL the roles in this show. Even Audrey. LOL.

Cheers,
The Balladeer

all else aside... I still am amused by Hunter's line reading of "Mushnik and Sons - Skidrow's favorite fla-ists"

Ok I'm listening to Mushnik and Son right now...what in the world is with the "Giddyup Daddy" part? At least thats what I think Hunter is saying. He sounds special with that line. It just seems random.

BTW...I love the demos. I like the song "The Worse He Treats Me". And I'm cusios, who is that passed away...Ashman or Menken?

in the production, Hunter jumps on Rob's back and wants to play horsey..

and Alan Menken is very much alive... it's Ashman who passed away

That part is cute when he jumps on his back also the part when Rob holds his Breath is funny in the show but you can't tell on the CD cause it's all facial expressions.

I got my CD yesterday and I love it! It sounds like I'm actually in the theatre. Bravo!
