The booklet is a long folding strip with a show history and plot outline on one side and pictures from the production on the other (about 12 of various sizes). No lyrics but at least the pics are in color.

I'm new at this - be gentle

NO LYRICS?!?! Why do some have them and some do not? That's weird. I am glad that it will be out on time, but I probably will not get it until next week! LSOH CD Hey, maybe Avenue Q is at Border's by now, lol.

Bway, you need to calm down, my friend. It will be ok. The major stores should have them in tomorrow. I HOPE!

Cheers,

I've checked with local stores and DRG today and they said there was a mix up. Outside vendors like Amazon and Barnes And Noble may not have the CD today, but the release date is still today and if you try a record store they should have it. I know Im going to hit up Boarders later on today.
Good luck all

Jai

OK in Jersey Barns & Nobles thinks the release date in Nov 4th. Borders didn't know why they didn't have it yet and Coconuts Has it for $14.95 so I'm on my way there now. I would recommend to try stores that are just music like coconuts.

Oh sorry well they have it at the one I got it and um it's interesting. I love the show but it really sounds like they stood on stage and song with the pit playing like it was on the show. It's ok but it could be a better recording. Oh well it's better then nothing and I still love it and te show.

Tower Records said it was released today, but they didn't get the shipment, they expect it 2morrow and same goes w/ Borders. FYE said they didn't have it. Rasputin also said it was released today but it was sold out! I think all the music stores are conspiring against me! *cry*

I found the cd more enjoyable than I thought, The Urchins are wonderful, and as I imagined Kerry sounded better on the recording. Hunter left me a bit cold as he seems to be using a strange accent to imply he's a "nerd" and it sometimes gives him diction problems, he is however in good vocie. Michael- Leon Wooley has a menacing timber as Audrey II, just wish there was a bit more humor to his lyric readings. A well produced if slightly unbalanced sound ratiowise. I'm glad fans of the show will have a record of this production. the real tresure are the cut songs performed by Ashman and Menken, brought a tear to my eye to hear Howard sing again. "We'll Have Tomorrow" is beautiful.

Sheekala, you know, Hunter's accent while singing really annoys me too. He has sort of this twang, that I noticed during Urinetown as well. But his voice is so good, I tend to overlook it, but I definitely know what you are talking about.

Kerry sounded and I know I am going to get flack for this, but....AMAZING! She REALLY amazes me with her incredible belt range, and how strong, and effortless it seems when she belts. She is one of my favorite current Broadway performers right now.

The urchins as I have said numerous times are the best thing about this production, and why shouldn't they be? (Since one of them went to my school....) But they are the highlight of this recording as well.

Micheal-Leon Wooley has always been overlooked by me, but his interpretation of Audrey II is a force to be reckoned with! I LOVE his vocal work, and his interpretation of lines are great. Just the perfect balance of attitude and menace. PERFECT.

Doug Sills was ok.

Rob Bartlett seemed to make the fact that Mushnik is "jewish" more subtle on this recording. I mean when I saw him on stage, there was no doubt he was a Jewish man from New York. Here, you barely notice it. I don't know if it is a good thing or not, since I thought that the Jewish sight gags and choreography in "Mushnik and Son" were TOO over-the-top, but I think maybe he should have stressed the "Jewishness" if that is a word, of Mushnik, so that it would translate more onto the recording. But he was still very fun to listen to, and is the best Mushnik, vocally, and perhaps acting wise that I have ever seen.

Overall, get out and get this CD. It is long worth the wait to me. I listened to the Prologue 20 times last night, and I am not kidding. GET IT! FEED ME!!!!!

Cheers,
The Balladeer

all else aside... I still am amused by Hunter's line reading of "Mushnik and Sons - Skidrow's favorite fla-ists"
