I saw this last night and LOVED it.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

I saw the show on Tuesday night and loved it! I guess we all can't agree on things, life would be way too boring! For example I saw Wicked and thought it was terrible but then you hear from people who thinks its the best thing since Coca'Cola, Mickey Mouse and Elvis!

Just my opinion,
Linda

After reading the reviews on All That Chat and here, I think I'll avoid this one.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

to each his own I guess. just means more $25 seats for me and others with similar taste to mine. I loved it. I never said it was perfect or couldn't use some work but I still loved it. And I do have to say that, seeing it a second time a few nights ago, it's much improved over the 1st preview. They cut down some of the bits that went on too long and everything is just looking better. They still have 3 weeks until opening to fine-tune. I don't mind being a shill for something that deserves a shill. This LA CAGE deserves a shill.

Broadway Matt,
Need an assistant shill?

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

how about a co-shill! it's an easy enough skill to develop without having to go through an apprenticeship. we'll shill together, side by side. We can be the 1st shills to spell more than 60% of the words in their posts correctly!

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

It's boggling my mind that a show this great can be getting reactions like this.
"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."

Or Elvis in a Mickey Mouse T-Shirt drinking Coca Cola!

PS: My friend saw it last night and was underwhelmed.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

I'm not going to comment on any opinions, I will simply agree to disagree (I think the show is incredible). I just want to mention this - when I saw it, Albin threw his wig at Georges, went down the stairs into the audience and exited up the aisle. He didn't do this at other performances? It was very moving.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

Yes Mythus..

Apparently according to sources, changes are being made due to the numerous negative reviews.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

I think "underwhelmed" is a good word for this show. I had two friends who went last night and called me during intermission....from a bar. They were "underwhelmed" and "uninterested" in this show.

Boy, if I made choices about going to shows based the negative things that some people say on All That Chat and on this board, I would never see anything.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

It's going to be a big, fat, fabulous hit! The hottest ticket on Broadway! And it doesn't surprise me at all that such an incredible show would be getting a certain amount of negative reaction, especially on this board. Hard as it may be to believe, I have a sneaking suspicion that more than a few folk around here have ulterior motives for wanting a show to fail or succeed. Imagine that.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

I have to question whether the split of like/dislike is for people who have seen the show before and those who have not. I was not familiar with the show, only the two films, and while it was not as developed as either film, I still truely enjoyed it, and by no means thought it was as bad as some post suggest...I was truely entertained.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

I still have a grudge against La Cage due to the whole SITPWG fiasco at the Tony's (Robbed I say ROBBED!) anyways, i still intend to see it. I'm going with no expectation of it so I can watch with a clean slate. but from what I know about the show I'm not surprised the reaction is split.

Yes..curtainup...EVERYONE who doesn't like them show has ulterior motives. We are all pissed about SITPWG..martini swigging gay guys...and BKLYN.

You are so smart and wise. You saw through our little plan for musical domination.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

Matt G--what did you expect from the poster who has no tact, taste, or the ability to spell Jerry Zaks' name correctly?

He probably thinks it sucked because it had Equity actors. (He must hate all Broadway and Off-Broadway shows then.)

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

From the reviews I've read, it's split down the middle. Some people love it, some people hate it. I've enjoyed reading all the reviews and I hope this doesn't turn into an personal insult match just because people disagree.

And to accuse a poster of having no taste just because he is disappointed in a show that a lot of people are disappointed with makes no sense... as the reverse could also be said...perhaps you have no taste because you like it..

Ma--me and Mr. Tut have a long history on the board. I haven't seen the show yet, but I doubt it's half as miserable as depicted.

Am I really reading this insipid dribble? I can't believe that someone actually posted this crap.

This is way out of line.

re: La CRAP Aux Flops

JRB...didn't realize your posting was simply part of an ongoing spat...how cute and sophmoric!

My point was simply that so far this thread had been a fairly reasonable discussion among people who had seen the show or who wanted opinions from real people..not critics. It had not disintegrated into a name calling match between people who so blindly loved the show they appeared to be shills and close minded haters who never like anything that they're not starring in.

Mr T does seem cynical, but after I see the show (which I am still looking forward to!)I may agree with him. or I may agree with Matt. but I certainly wouldn't say either one of them were lacking taste. It's not like Mr T is the only one saying this show is not all that...
