Hello, all! I know these types of posts can be obnoxious, but you are the best at this kind of question. So I'm hoping you can help me out! Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
I'll be in New York this weekend. I have the possibility to see a show on Thursday or Friday night. Right now my top priority is La Cage Aux Folles. I don't have much cash, so rush is pretty much going to be the only option for me.
The dilemma: on both Thursday and Friday, I won't be able to be at the theatre until around 3:00 PM. Will I have any chance at getting a seat?
Also: I'm going with my parents. I'm a student, and my dad is a teacher / student at a local university. He takes classes there, but does not have a student ID. He has a professor ID. Is there any chance they would accept that as being a student?
Final question. If it does turn out that we fail to get La Cage tickets... What kind of luck would we have (at 3:00 PM) of finding rush tickets to H2$, CMIYC, or Sister Act?
Thank you all so much. Can't thank you enough!

Catch me and H2$ and sister act have all been selling out when the box office opens
My friend got to H2$ at 10:30 and was able to get a seat but I doubt they would still have em at 3
I don't think La Cage would have rush left at 3 since they only have 16 (horrible) rush seats per show.
I'd go with the rear balcony for $39.50 if I were you, they have a discount out for $28 so its cheaper than the rush and much better seats
Where might I find this discount? How is the rear balcony of the Longacre?
I went to LaCage 20 mins before curtain and they had rush tix available...

muscle23ftl - When did you go? Is rush more competitive now that the show is in its final weeks?
Can I use the discount code at the theatre? If I do that, will I have to pay the charges that I would have to pay online? They want to charge me practically $30 in fees.
Usually, you can use the code at the theater, but some are online only. You'd have to check the fine print, and since I don't know where that code came from, I can't help you there.
But if you buy a ticket in person at the box office, you do not have to pay additional fees.

You can use that code at the box office
I used it a couple days ago to buy seats for the final show
Before or after you purchased tickets for what you thought was the final show, then had to cancel them when an extension wasn't announced?
Will it be enough to just tell them the code, or do I need to bring in a printed copy of it somewhere? Could you help me find a link to that?
This is what I'm leaning towards right now: Going to the box office tomorrow afternoon and using the code to get me tickets for Friday's show.

I just asked the guy for the $28 seats and he gave them to me for that price
How did you hear about the discount? Did you receive an email that you could forward to me or something?

I got it in an email from Telechagre but I deleted the email, but I wrote down the code and just showed it to the box office man and he gave me the discount
