"Exactly, Rath.
The producers of the show are taking themselves a bit too seriously, the recycling is becoming boring and predictable."
Don't these people learn from history? Phantom grows staler and staler because they use the same people over and over again, and Les Miz wasn't any better. The audience can tell, even if it's the first time they see the show. I don't know why anyone would want Eden in the cast, she was absolutelty dreadful.

The producers like Eden because she saves them money. No one else wants her, so she will work for cheap. And while she is in the company, they don't have to worry about fog machines.. they just pipe in the smoke flooding out of her dressing room. Granted, the rest of the cast is left feeling a bit funny and hungry, but they can always order takeout....

From what I've heard, the producers love Espinosa given the fact she is one of the few actresses to play the role whose voice has stayed the same throughout the time she has been with the show, apparently her voice does not become strained or uncomfortable with the belting as it happens with the other actresses who have played the role.
bg2, you really need to learn some restraint. All your "friends" in the business are not going to want to have a thing to do with you.
Wow, they're really approaching Rent-esque levels of recycling, aren't they?
I think from a producing standpoint, the fact that these people have significant followings within the fanbase make them extremely attractive to cast, despite the staleness factor. People who like the show know the names, they can they they've starred in the Broadway production, etc.

rath, i have no attachment to Eden or her circle in any way, shape or form.. and I think most reasonable people familiar with me know that a post such as that was made in a tongue in cheek manner..

The reason for the recycling is that its easier to keep using actors the producers know they don't have to worry about being able to do these roles 8 shows a week vocally. For the actors, these are great roles with huge pay checks. There is very little work in musical theatre that would come anywhere near the total package these two "gigs" offer these actresses.
And the ticket sales have NOTHING to do with who is starring in the show. Folks would come and see it, bo matter who was starring in it.

I don't think the event was as much about the particular actors as it was about making a big deal about the show itself - and it's working.
Emiy Rozek (Tour Glinda u/s) has confirmed that she will be standing by for Megan Hilty in LA.
I did not know that Eden smokes....
