None yet.
My friend David auditioned and went to callbacks...he hasn't gotten any calls yet. Should I be worried about the fate of this, or do casting people usually call really late?

Posted: 11/20/05 at 12:31pmHa Ha...that's funny. I have to admit, I think this is the perfect musical for Vegas. I'm thinking it will definitely be better than the Broadway version. With the money they are putting into it, I'm sure it will look fantastic and I think it will only be helped but cutting it down to 90 minutes.

Posted: 11/20/05 at 1:32pmA couple of weeks ago in the Playbill job postings there was a casting notice but I believe it was just for understudies. The descriptions of the roles were very specific. Also the posting mentioned that the whole process of getting Phantom Las Vegas to the stage is being made into a reality show, and audions would most likely be taped!

If Wayne could still sing - I know that there are many who said that he never could. Newton messed up his voice some years back when he started doing gigs in Branson. Most of his shows now are taped from years back. On the songs that he does sing, the strain is painfully audible. What I'm hearing on the rumor mill is that there will be 2 seperate casts for the matinee and the evening performances, and that at least in the evening cast, they are looking for someone who has already played the role. Lisa has been approached and Ted Keegan's name has been mentioned. It is going to be interesting to see who does get the part.

Vegaslady, I like how you said "Lisa" without "Vroman." *snort*
Here's the article, for anyone interested.
Still, she acknowledges that the financial security of being in an Andrew Lloyd Webber show can be tempting. She was also in his Aspects of Love on Broadway. Producers have talked to her about being in Lloyd Webber's latest musical, The Woman in White, as well as the upcoming Las Vegas version of Phantom.
"There's a certain appeal in having a job that's secure in the theater business," Vroman said. "But it would mean giving up working with orchestras, chamber groups and opera companies. If I'm going to continue on, I just have to say no. But they dangle that money, you know, and you just think, wow, that would pay for the renovation in my house."

CALM YOURSELF!
They're filming the rehearsals with it, and they don't start rehearsals until Febuary!
What is wrong with you, hm? You seem to never be calm. Maybe you need to just take deep breathes...in and out.

Could you be excited and use the shift key at the same time?
Besides, as excited as you are, that excitement is not going to hurry the process any. You may want to save some for later.
