In this instance, you pretty much are.

Trying to stop a bunch of stampeding Rentheads is like...well, trying to stop a bunch of stampeding Rentheads.

With Phantom in Vegas, which is pretty much an alternate universe of something already established (both in fandom and creative work), it's more like swatting a bad puppy on the nose with a newspaper.

Now, where's the classifieds...

OK.....i am not very happy that they are cutting it down. What can they cut out?

Probably like what they did with the film. Cut out Notes II and lines here and there. I bet the Hannibal & Il Muto sequences are shortened as well. I have no clue how they can cut a full hour out though, unless that includes the intermission time.

I would think they would just cut down all the recitative parts of the show, and keep in all the "famous" songs.
