What time should you be there to basically guarantee student rush tickets? How many seats are usually sold?
bump anyone tried for rush?
Bump! Heading to NYC this week and trying to plan out my show schedule. Thanks!
I don't know about rush, but if you're under 30, you can order advance tickets for $34 on their website. When ordering, click the "Orch M-O" section, and then click "Youth." If "Youth" doesn't appear, it means they are sold out of the seats reserved for the under-30 crowd for that performance (they are in the back on the extreme sides, but it's a small theater and the view is not obstructed).
Alternatively, I saw that the show was on TKTS at 50% off today, putting ticket prices at about $42 each.

I got there last Thursday at 6:30 pm and was first on the rush list. I came back exactly at 7 and got one no problem.

My sister and I went on a Saturday for evening tickets, got there around 5:30, and we were 19 and 20. We were the first people not to get a ticket. We then went on a Saturday afternoon, lined up at 10:30, and were the first people in line. By 12, there were about 10-15 people in line. I would get there at least an hour before they start giving out the reservation tickets. Their rush is really weird. They give out this reservation stub three hours before the performance, then you come back an hour before the performance and line up in the order of your ticket number. You buy the ticket (if you're one of the first in line) and they say we'll seat you when it starts and if there are no seats or standing room left, then you'll get a refund. So even if you buy your rush ticket, there is still no guarantee that you'll actually get to see it. But if you're one of the first 5-7 people in line, then you shouldn't have a problem.
