Hey all -

I'm going into the city tomorrow, probably won't be there till about 11 or 12. What are some really easy rushes so I don't waste my time running from theater to theater?

I'm thinking some of the following...Chicago, Gypsy, and maybe some lottos.

Thanks!

There's always Sunday...they usually have Gen and Student rush tix available...i went for Gen Rush 2hrs before the show on Saturday night and was the 11th person seated and had Row J...for Gen Rush they seat you wherever there is an available seat 5 min before the show...and if that person comes during intermission then they reseat you (happened to me but in Act 2 i got Row D center so it worked out good)

Good luck with whatever you choose to do :)

I think Gypsy will probably be fairly crowded, so if you get there later on you might end up with rear balcony, instead of the front row orchestra seats which are given out first. Chicago will be a lot easier to get, but keep in mind that they do not do rush for the evening performance on Saturdays.

I'm planning to do the matinee...I want to lotto YF and if I lose, rush Chicago, but I might just want to go see Chicago. I haven't seen it since 2004 and would like to revisit it! Funny, most of the cast is people I saw on tour.

The only one that would probably be close to a sure bet is The Homecoming since that student rush is 2 hours before curtain as opposed to when the box office opens.

Sunday hasn't had any seats available even at opening on the weekends for the past few. Gypsy...there's been a nice-sized line out front the past couple of weekends. I wouldn't count on Chicago being easy ~ I tried at about 10:15 the Thursday before Easter and it was gone (I was offered standing room), and managed it this past Sunday. My friends and I got there just after 11 (the box office opened at noon) and were first in line ~ by the time they opened, there was a good sized line that stretched down the steps.

Cry-Baby may be a possibility...

I would try Passing Strange. I tried a few Saturdays ago after losing the In the Heights lotto and got a front row seat!

Best of luck!

Thanks guys for your help.

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it into the city today because I didn't hand in some form that I thought I could hand in the day of the trip. So they wouldn't let us on the bus. Damn school. re: Last Minute Rushes

So instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd just tag on to this one... hope that's ok.

I am thinking of coming into the city tomorrow to try the In the Heights lotto but wanted to know if anyone had advice on rushes I might still be able to get afterwards in case I lose. I was kind of thinking along the lines of Macbeth, The Country Girl, or A Catered Affair.

Thanks so much!

Definitely MACBETH or COUNTRY GIRL.

CATERED AFFAIR still has no rush, as far as I know.

MACBETH is amazing. If you don't win HEIGHTS lotto, I'd recommend going straight to MACBETH and getting a rush ticket to that. There should definitely be a seat available.

Oh, and props for not starting a new thread. re: Last Minute Rushes

A CHORUS LINE usually has great rush seats, and you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn..same goes for PASSING STRANGE

I haven't been recently... if I lose the ITH lotto on Saturday do you think I'd still be able to get a rush ticket for A Chorus Line?

I tried to get Passing Strange rush after losing the In the Heights lotto but they wouldn't sell them to me, even though they had seats available.

You can use this code to get discount Gypsy tickets through April 20: GYBBX84

And from the same site, if you search for "Regular Price Tickets" you can get premium tickets ($250) for regular price ($111) on the day of the show if there are any left. I believe they release them around 2p. I bought center orchestra row G on the aisle for last night's show around 4p.

defyingravity11, did they tell you why they wouldn't sell them to you? I know that at least one show last week was for invited guests only.
