Some shows that can't sell tickets has been up on TDF for their final show's like Irena's Vow
And 9to5 isn't up there so that draws us to WHAT conclusion?

saw 9to5 recently and it was fabulous. I'd heard a bunch of negative buzz and wasnt expecting much... but I had such a fun time.
Highly recommended.

yes i saw it last night and was absolutely fabulous. Definitely go see it.
Absolutely fabulous?????? Standards certainly have fallen to rock bottom if you think 9 to 5 is absolutely fabulous. If it were, it wouldn't be closing.
it's called an opinion..
Yes
Just because the show is closing doesnt mean it was horrible. It just had lackluster tickets sales.
And you cant say because of the negative reviews people dont go to see the show.
Wicked opened up to much more scathing reviews and was critically panned yet its Broadways "hottest ticket"
I enjoyed it much more than Wicked
Does anyone know if the lottery is still happening tomorrow (the final show)? I know it will be super-crowded and next to impossible to win, but still, there's a chance. (If it's still happening. . . )
You'll definately regret it if you don't.
Yes - go see it! If I was a little closer to NYC I would be there this weekend!

OK.....I've been debating for days..and you people pushed me over the edge.
I just got an orchestra seat for tomorrow afternoon, and the Broadway Box discount is still working!
I'm thrilled to go back for the fourth and final time!
Yay peer pressure!
No.
Don't 'bother' to go see it.
Stay home and watch TV.
Then, when people who saw the show and talk about it, you can be the one who says, "I never saw it!"
Couldn't make it down to NYC this weekend, so I suppose I will be one of the people that says "I never saw it" - unless the tour comes to Boston at some point.
(I did see an entertaining production of Kiss Me Kate this afternoon however for free, so the weekend wasn't completely theater-free :)
I hope Allison Janney comes back to Broadway soon!
I hope she comes to the West End instead - I know she's said she wants to!
I liked 9-5 well enough - esp the 3 leading ladies - and would have liked to have seen it again on my next trip to NYC in November. I reckon the lack of Tony recognition was what ultimately did for this show. I know it's not exactly Sondheim, but at least it has an original score. And being beaten out by the likes of Shrek and ROA - ????

9 to 5 was wonderful tonight! Had seats in right orchestra, row V. Good seats from TDF. The show will definitely be missed .

Hey--I started this thread and was heavily influenced by people here to give 9 to 5 a try, so I wanted to share with you how much I really enjoyed it. Yes, it's not Billy Elliott, but so much fun! My TDF seat was in the front mezz, which was only half full, and I was able to move into an third row center seat at intermission, which was especially great for Janney's and Block's big second act numbers.
Note to the TDF patron who told me I'd given her the idea to move down from the mezz, took the last empty seat next to me and told me that she thoroughly disliked the show but wanted to see everyone's faces better: life is too short for this! If you hate the show, why not go out and enjoy the sunshine instead of moving closer? Oh that's right, when I asked you that, you reminded me that you'd paid for your ticket, so I guess if you BUY your own suffering, it only makes sense to prolong it. But holding your ends over your ears while Stephanie Block is rocking the house and climbing over everybody in the row during the curtain call is really a buzzkill for those of us who are actually having fun. Okay, just had to get that off my chest...
Thanks to all for your thoughts on this; I had a hell of a good time!
Yes, I could see how that would have been a bit of a downer.
Glad YOU weren't disappointed in the show, though.
