Well, she wasn't very well received in Hairspray, was she? I mean, compared to everyone else? Perhaps that has something to do with it.

I don't think she was badly recieved, just lost in the Marissa-Harvey shuffle.

I don't think she'd be bad in WICKED. Especially as Amber is really a more evil version of Glinda.

I think Laura Bell auditioned for Eileen in WONDERFUL TOWN.

She wasn't badly received but I think she got lost in the shuffle as the show got going a bit. If you look at the earliest promotions it was usually she and Marissa since they were the feuding girls but as the show got running it seemed like Kerry took more of the press and attention.

I don't know, I'm not a pro actor but I could see taking a stand-by in a big show over wading through the workshops or doing something tiny instead.

But being the standby for Kristin Chenoweth in Wicked is nothing to sneeze at...besides, it wasn't as if she were the lead in Hairspray...she just had a supporting role. And I definitely didn't think she had weak vocals in Hairspray. She was very entertaining and very good. I am happy for her.

Just to clarify.....Melissa Bell Chait is Kristin's understudy and she is who went on for her. I don't know of Melissa Bell Bundy but maybe the names are getting mixed up. Bell Chait is definitely Glinda understudy...I have it in my program and besides there is a post that someone wrote about seeing Bell Chait perform the role last night or 2 nights ago.

Come to think, she might be pretty good at the role of Glinda in Wicked. Amber Von Tussle was not a huge role and her songs were not the greatest. I bet she really can sing very well, we just didn't see too much of it in Hairspray. So I day give her a chance. She can handle the "Miss Popular" blonde!

Actually.. she is not stuck up at all. She is very grounded, intelligent and business savvy. I have had nothing but great experiences with her..

I think she has a nice voice. I'm very happy for her. She didn't really get to show off her voice in Hairspray. Obviously she can sing the role, or she wouldn't have gotten the job.
