Laura Bell in WICKED...

Yeah, me too! May be I'll try to see it in May when Kristen is off. I wonder how the Elphaba/Glinda chemistry was.
Look back to previous threads- some one saw her and was quite impressed. I believed they said she got more comfortable as the show moved along, nailing Popular and crying during For Good. I would love to see her sing those high notes!

Laura Bell BUNDY.

I'm curious about Laura's range. Can she sing those high notes, or did they lower the score for her?

I would like to see the understudies for BOTH the leading ladies, just to see how the show carries without them.

I agree about wanting to see an understudy for WICKED, but I want it to be Idina Menzel's understudy.

I can't imagine Laura Bell Bundy singing those mega-high notes. She's definitely a wonderful comedienne, so I'm sure the bulk of her stuff would be terrific, but Kristin IS Glinda. Hard to replace her.

I would love to hear someone else sing Elpheba's stuff at some point. I enjoyed Idina very much, but she tends to yell a little too much for my personal taste. Her acting was strong, but I feel she could have been a little ... more ... something I can't seem to put my finger on.

Maybe Sherie Rene Scott will replace her sometime down the road! I can dream can't I?

I also think letting Norah Jones re-do I'm Not that Girl would be pretty cool.

ok, Kristen Chenoweth was Dainty June, and Jordan Ballard was Baby June many years ago in "Gypsy" at OCU in Oklahoma. They both have trained in opera at OCU, they were selected to play the roles because they looked alike (at the time, but at least 12 years apart in age)and if Kristen leaves, I think Jordan would make a great choice for the role, but I guess that depends when her contract ends with the National Tour of "Hairspray"? Laura Bell (Kristen's stand-by) was the original Amber and Jordan is the tour Amber. ok, just a thought?? And wnat do you mean that Sheri Rene Scott can't act? Would love to know why you think that?

Hmmmm...why do I think so? Because she can't. She's got a great voice but as an actress she is plain awful. She has no emotional investment in anything she does. Her performance in Last Five Years was horrible. I can still see her break down during "See I'm Smiling"- let's just say it involved her slapping her hands to her face, sobbing (very theatrically), and then slowly moving her hands away from eyes as if playing hide and go seek. And as if nothing had ever happened she was back to that stonefaced expression she kept for the rest of the show. I hated the show after I left the off-Broadway production. It wasn't until I saw another production a year later, with Sherrie's stand-by, that I realized the incredible possibilities of the production and the emotional complexity of Kathy's character. I also saw Sherrie in Aida but I have to sympathize with her on that one. No one in the world could play Linda Woolverton's script.

I couldn't picture Sherie playing an outspoken nerd who ends up spazzing out and belting herself into oblivion. (I know it's deeper than that...) Maybe because of the past roles I've seen her in, I don't know. But other than the voice, nothing about her resembles Elphaba or seems like it could become Elphaba.

Jordan Ballard??? I saw her on the rent tour and was not impressed by her at all.

That would be interesting. Shoshana Bean could kick serious @ss with that part.
