"Fascist" is a bit melodramatic, Robbie. I do agree, however, that the films are not at all alike.
La Margherita is laugh-out-loud-til-you-cry funny! Benanti is, as all-too-often, cringe-worthy.

Yeah, the video was in desperate need of editing, but it was still fun. Laura was telling the guy with the great hair from Broadway.com that she's started working on original comedic material - possibly for tv - and partially motivated by her popularity on Twitter and the lack of great female roles she's finding for women inbetween "young ingenue" and "post-menopausal witch". I think if paired with the right partner, she could create some really interesting stuff.

I found it pretty cloying and not very funny. The bits were way too long and run into the ground. Not her best moments.

I'm not sure about any of her "bits." Sometimes she's funny, definitely, but it's very clear that she doesn't have the best instincts as far as actually creating long form comedy. As Tina Fey once said, when it comes to sketch comedy, "establish the game, play the game and get out." Laura's videos generally seem too focused on showcasing this persona and less focused on the all important "game." That being said, there were certainly a few lines in this video I found to be hilarious.
