This is phenomenal. Me and my family are big fans of Gilmore Girls and she is just phenomenal as Lorelai Gilmore. She really was ignored for fantastic work. Her fast paced delivery of hilarious lines and her phenomenal dramatic scenes. She is one of the best actresses out there. I can't wait to see her as Adelaide because she has the talent of being hilarious and having an audience fall in love with her. She seems to have musical theatre background so that is great but I am telling you if she can portray Adelaide as seemlessly and brilliantly as she did for Lorelai and she can sing well she could be a major tony contender.
Current Avatar:The sensational Aaron Tveit in the soon to be hit production of Catch Me If You Can.
Lauren Graham is really a great actress.. aside from Gilmore Girls (which I believe in the episode she sang she was drunk yes, but trying still) she was in "Because I Said So" with Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton and Piper Perabo. She was very funny and they all sang. She didn't sing much but I am sure they wouldn't have cast her if she couldn't sing at all since the entire family sang at family functions and such. She was also in Evan Almighty (which wasn't the best movie but she was good in it) and Birds of America.
She's been in a ton of (mostly horrible) movies. Over the years I have watched almost all of them, and I am always impressed by her talent, even if she doesn't have a huge role. And Gilmore Girls displayed her obvious hilarity but also her brilliant dramatic potential. I expect she will win over all audiences in Guys and Dolls. At least, I hope so.
And the word "casted" makes me cringe.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
im really surprised with these choices- all four of these roles are pretty demanding vocally, and I just dont know how they expect Lauren and Oliver and Lauren A. to handle it... especially Sarah's vocals in "Ill Know" and "If I Were A Bell". Theyre gonna be lowering keys left and right.
theres so much broadway talent out there getting stifled by big names. nothing wrong with a celebrity here and there, but to cast an entire revival with big names seems overkill.
The role of Nathan was written for Sam Levene, who wasn't much of a singer.
I don't know if Lauren Ambrose is actually going to be in this or not, but she's a trained singer and has a fine voice.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
Not that it was my doing lol but I DID meet her after a performance of Gypsy and we discussed Broadway and all its glory and I asked what she was up to, and she said not much and I told her that she should do a Broadway show.
HA OBVIOUSLY this is all my brilliance. Or not. Either way. YAY!

Who me? I met her at the first performance of Gypsy after the Tonys. I went up to her in the theatre after the show, being that I was sitting near her, and just introduced myself because I'm a huge fan and wanted to meet her. Then we started talking about the fab Ms. LuPone and Gypsy

I was thrilled when I heard about her new TV show. Even without that, I wouldn't have expected her to stay in Guys and Dolls for an incredibly long time.
Well pilot season is not until the Spring and if it does get picked up it may not start shooting until next Fall. I'm sure she already has a certain contract with Guys & Dolls.
