Well, Adelaide doesn't have to have the best voice. She just needs to be hilarious and make the audience fall in love with her, both of which Lauren Graham has done in the past.

Posted: 10/28/08 at 6:37pmI love Lauren Graham. She's a terrific actress, and certainly has the comedy chops. Now I'll definitely be looking forward to this production and can't wait to hear more on the casting.

Posted: 10/28/08 at 6:42pmThis is amazing news. Lauren Graham is incredible. Loved her in Gilmore Girls and I cannot wait to see her in this! I actually think that it's very inspired casting. She is certainly wacky enough for the role not to mention sexy enough. I think she'll be wonderful.

Like mother, like daughter. I'm sure Kelly Bishop is very happy for her.
I am syked. I literally gasped when I saw it. I would never have thought about her getting the role, but think she will do wonderful.

Posted: 10/28/08 at 7:05pmI don't think excitement even begins to cover it. Can't wait to see her in this! Ironically a friend and I were just talking about her a couple of weeks ago.

Posted: 10/28/08 at 7:30pmLauren Graham is possibly my favorite actress, so I'm over the moon right now. I've been waiting to see her on Broadway for a long time! I think she'll be fabulous as Adelaide.

How random.
Ah, well, put me down as another one disappointed it's not Jane Krakowski . . .

OMG I love Lauren Graham! This is the most exciting news I've heard in a loooong time. It really is inspired casting, and got me very, very interested in seeing this revival.
She actually has sung before, as mentioned, and I really like her voice.

Make Mama Gilmore aka Sheila Bryant proud!!

Posted: 10/28/08 at 7:58pmWait. people really thought Krakowski would join different production of this show with a different director? That director helped her win an Oliver, I can see why she wouldn't want to join a totally new production. Updated On: 10/28/08 at 07:58 PM

OMG I have to see this now! I love Gilmore Girls! I actually have been watching that the past few days. So excited for this!!!!!!!!!!!
(sorry for all the exclamation points)
"I think they could have got someone better and more suited to this great role."
Who's to say there should be someone better or not when she hasn't even started the role yet? I don't think that video is the best representation of her voice, but I think she is an amazing actress and will do just fine.

I burst into tears when I found out.
Lorelai Gilmore is my favorite character of all times. I have a complete and sick obsession with that show - I watch at least two episodes every night - and have seen the entire series in order 8 times - now on my 9th viewing.
This is a complete dream come true.
She will be BRILLIANT.

Posted: 10/28/08 at 9:37pmShe can sing. Don't worry about that. Her "I Will Always Love You" was sung by a drunk, heartbroken Lorelai. Lauren can sing.

NYC4LIFe, you are definitely not alone. It's not even about her singing (haven't seen the video, but I'm not that concerned about whether she can sing or not).
Who knows? Maybe she'll be as great as everyone seems to think she's going to be.

The poor woman.
She's yet to step on stage and someone here is already saying she'll be "BRILLIANT."
Give her a chance to actually perform before you go in with a fantasy about how her performance will be the best thing since sliced bread.
