I saw DeLaria play a woman in THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE and she reminded me of seeing Ethel Merman when I was 13.

Yes, she was THAT good, like Merman the perfect combination of a great belt and insanely funny low comedy!

She was the highlight in an otherwise bland On the Town revival at the Gershwin a few years back. Unfortunately I don’t think she can no longer pull off playing traditional female roles.

They announced the cast last week and she wasn’t in it.

Not in New York, but she is in the process of opening a new jazz club in Ptown, taking over the old Pied Bar. It’s due to open in a few weeks.
