Leaving a Seat Stranded

Ahhhhhh I won the groundhog day lotto for tomorrow and I'm trying to buy the tickets but ALL of the decent ones are in groups of 3. So I try to buy 2 and it says I can't leave one seat stranded. Which is dumb because they're lotto seats so no matter what it has to be a pair and a single ticketmaster why!!! If I run down to the box office will they let me buy the pair (since it's jujamcyn there's no number I can call, ticketmaster was WILDLY unhelpful and jujamcyn offices are closed) or does anyone know of any other way of contacting the theater with an almost immediate response? I do not live in NYC I don't wanna take a bus down if I can't solve the problem there/if I could from home. (Alternatively, what are the odds that I go to the box office and complain that in the time it took to solve all this all the good seats were taken and they give me better ones just to be nice because I'm bringing my mom and nice seats would be nice but obvi that isn't as important as GETTING seats)

Call Ticketmaster. They'll do it for you. I've had to do the same when leaving 1 seat.
It really is a crappy set-up. I understand if you're buying 1 ticket and breaking up a pair, but I think as long as you're buying more than 1 ticket they should disable it. I had to call because I wanted to buy 3 of 4 seats and it gave me the same message.

1. Open a new window, either an incognito window or in a different browser, in Ticketmaster
2. Add single seat to cart. Pretend to check out. Get up to the point where you have to add payment info
3. Head back to your original window. You might need to refresh the seats, but the single seat should disappear because it's being held in your other cart
4. Proceed with purchase of seats you want!
This has worked for me many, many times :)

Wow, that's very clever and I feel very foolish for not thinking of it. I bet you could also use the mobile app instead of another browser to either buy or faux-buy.

Thank you, thank you! This worked and the seats I wanted were still available when I did it. I had just ran to catch a bus and missed it but I guess it was for the best! Woohoo :)

That's a clever "should have been obvious to me but wasn't when I was in the same boat" solution Carmilla. I'll know next time. Thanks.

Camilla, that's the best advice I've ever gotten on this site. Many thanks!

Although, it won't work if you're trying to break up a pair, sadly. Since either way you're leaving a seat stranded and it won't let you do that.

I hate this. When trying to buy just one seat, has anyone tried just putting two seats in your cart, and then cancelling one of them before checking out?
