re: Legally Blonde Act 1 Finale Video

It was a little bit flat, but hey, no one can be perfect all of the time. Also, I find that this number fell a little flat in the film medium; it is much more lively in the theatre, for those who are concerned.

Craig - Thanks ! Yup It has not chance since I saw it too last 4/21 Friday night. Though the lyrics changed from the DEMO at SanFRan, of course , that was expected - its actually one of the BEST Chreographed song in the musical (along with "Bend & Snap" , "Ohmigod" & "Legally Blonde Remix Finale ) Jerry Mitchell was very smart to put all his best songs/ numbers at the end of each acts.-J*

Thanks for pointing out the link. It still looks like a fun show, and it was very smart to have it on a major non-theatre website.

This music doesn't really intrigue me. It sounds as if the writers are writing their first time musical and think to themselves: "Ok, it's a musical, so we'll change the key eight million times." It was unecessary, and kind of annoying that they did it in the middle of phrases and verses sometimes. Odd...I don't know.

It doesn't sound as exciting in that video. Does the tempo sound a little slower than it was in SanFran?

Might just be me. Yeah, the last note was a bit off, but promo vids usually don't do the show justice.
I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

Her singing is too tense. She raises her larynx too high and tightens up, so she sounds pinched and strained. She still sounds good, she could just be at a different level of good if she would relax laryngeally. I didn't hear pitch problems, just some intonation problems. Relaxing works wonders for good singing!

I wasn't too satisfied with all the changes to the lyrics, but maybe because I really enjoyed the demo numbers, and now I'm used to those. I'm still very excited for this show, and am very happy they gave us a whole number like that to watch. AWESOME!

Great clip- thanks for posting!
Saw a preview, and LOVED it; only hope that Laura Bell doesn't strain her voice too much, as she did in this vid.

That is the Act One finale? I thought it would be something a lot bigger.

I always found it to be a pretty strong Act 1 closer because it's such a catchy melody that you'll be humming it throughout intermission.

re: Legally Blonde Act 1 Finale Video

I feel like Laura needs to open up on the last note - it seems closed.

Listen dawg,,not sure about that pitchy stuff. i feel she sang it like it was written. you know there is comedy in there and everything...huh dawg? sounds like randy jackson was doing some of the reviews... whatever.. i thought it was adorable.

Eh, is about the only reaction that clip makes me have. Bundy's singing is a definite weak point, sorry but it sounds much 'better' on that clip than it ever has live and yes, I've seen it more than once.

re: Legally Blonde Act 1 Finale Video

is it possible, since you saw it live and also heard this clip and you feel that her voice sounds better in the clip ...could it be that there is a problem with getting it right in the theatre/??/ obviously it is her voice in the clip and it sounds great... so what is the problem? makes you wonder if the sound system is up to par.

Ok loved this video. Got me super excited for when I see it in May. I thougt Laura did a great job. You can't base your opinons of a show or performer on one little video. You have to see the full production to really get a feel for the show.

I also love when Elle and Emmett do the hand shake. It is so cute how Elle teaches him all the girly things and he goes along with it.
