I am seeing this tomorrow night with my husband (he's not as excited as I am, unfortunately, but putting on a good show), and I was curious as to the posting on the tour blog regarding the "new Margot." I am curious as to whether anyone has any idea on who this is and when they'll be joining the tour?
I had a feeling that would be the case and it was Kate. I love the Margot character, it seems like it would be a lot of fun to play. What's up with Rhiannon? When does Kate join?
And crap, I wish I had bought the 14th performance! Could have made some money off the deal. Ah well, I'm excited for tomorrow night and seeing Laura Bell.
im sorry but i HATE kate rockwell as MARGOT! hate hate hate it! not to be mean but im sorry i honestly dotn think shes good with the part! im so glad i saw alex ellis....ughh! i watched a video of kate and as soon as she came on "dear elle..." i had to skip it i dispised it sooo much! i dont see why she even got the role as margot... shes robably one of the reason the shows flopped when bailey was in it. she ruined it! UGHHHH!

Animal, SERIOUSLY.. I don't mean to be mean, but have you taken your medication? Essentially, what you are saying is that 'hate' her entire performance in the show based on seeing her say one line in what I can intelligently figure to be a probably poorly video? That is in NO WAY logical. I don't think I have ever seen any performer in a role where I thought "I wouldn't change even a single line reading." And I hardly think that who plays MARGOT has an impact on the box office of the show negatively or otherwise. As far as Bailey Hanks goes, I personally enjoyed her, though I felt that a smaller role would have better prepared her. A starring role like that is daunting for anyone, let alone someone so green. However, Bailey can not be blamed for the show closing. It wasn't selling well before she got there and truth be told, she did boost sales for a few weeks. If anything, that allowed it to hang on as long as it did.. Believe me, Laura bell Bundy was NOT the reason for the success that the show had to begin with..
no im sorry i actually did see her as Margot. i guess i kinda did just blow up sorry lol umm i really liked bailey i wish she wouldve had a longer run in the show... idk, its just a personal oppionion...i didnt enjoy kate as well as I did as n the mtv producyion with annaleigh or on tour with who i saw, Alex Ellis. She was good, just not my personal choice of the roll! but what ever happened to Rhiannon?? Is she really out of the show permantely?? Ive heard an audio of her on youtube an I liked it from what I heard! :)
Alex Ellis is probably my all time favorite Margot. She should land the roll of Margot, personal oppinion again!
I was happy to see that Nick finally updated the blog, I missed reading it..
I would like to know what's up w/Rhiannon too! Before broadwayguy2 said it was Kate Rockwell... I was kind of hoping that Annaleigh would want to come back. She was the best Margot IMO.
Oh gosh I love Annaleigh, I would love to see her as Margot again but I read somewhere she was starting to read for a new show once Wicked closed in Chicago.
And I too am curious as to what happened to Rhiannon.
This is what Rhiannon's facebook status is: "Rhiannon Hansenis out of Legally Blonde with a stress reaction in her right tibia... But she will rejoin the cast in CHICAGO in MAY :)...9 hours ago"
this sucks that Rhiannon will be out for so long "/
I live in Houston and the show is outstanding. Have attended three time thus far. My wife and I took our 4 1/2 year old daughter both Saturday night and last night. Both of those shows we were fortunate to get to see Laura Bell Bundy in the Elle role. All I can say is WOW!!! The cast was great and last night they were so kind to our daughter in stopping to take time and autograph her Playbill and pose for pictures. Top notch group. Loved it.
Was Laura Bell (for those who've seen her on Broadway/tour) just as good as she was on Broadway? Did she forget any lines? Did she stumble at all? Were there any funny little jokes? Did the audience seem to know who she was? And last, was she good?
i dont see why she even got the role as margot... shes robably one of the reason the shows flopped when bailey was in it. she ruined it! UGHHHH!
Yes, yes, the actress playing MARGOT, a small and ultimately insignificant role, was the reason the Broadway production of Legally Blonde closed. Of course. It's perfectly logical. Thanks for clearing it up for me.
Judging by seeing her from the MTV broadcast of it vs. her on Friday night -- she sounded like she was a little sick actually -- her speaking voice was raspy in some parts and she didn't hold the note at the end of So Much Better the entire time -- she took a breath halfway through and I think she was off a tad to begin with, but the music drowned her out honestly. She was off beat when she was saying "I'm flunking out of school, a total laughing stock...etc." Other than that she was great, and I enjoyed seeing her. I've heard Lauren was very good but got nasally towards the end of the show. I'd like to see her as well to compare, but all in all I had a great time and the show was fantastic. I like the changes they made -- something about Jcrew kung fu in Positive since Megan Lewis is "twice her size."
