There's a message on a different board stating that the Broadhurst will host a limited winter engagement of Les Mis before History Boys begins playing.
I also heard that Billy Crystal will be back for a limited engagement at the same time.
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
As much as I love Les Mis, it's too early to bring it back. There's a tour going around, so I think if they were to revive it, it would have to be on a clean slate. It would be too weird to have two separate kind of productions of the same show running.
If they really wanted to do so, they could bring the Broadway sets and costumes back from Germany. The Berlin production closed at New Year's, so they're no longer in use.
The Broadhurst has a mere 1,100 seats. I'm not sure how Les Miz in that theatre would be economically feasible, unless they employed a greatly reduced cast and orchestra.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
I'd be the happiest girl alive if Les Mis came back to New York for any sort of run. I haven't seen the show in over a year and I've been suffering from withdrawal.
