Imagine a Fantine who is actually dying!

Not like belting out the last note. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!

Funny thing is I'm not even a fan of Daphne. But after seeing her in Bernarda Alba I sort of changed my 'tude.

I am now quite excited to hear/see her perform I DREAMED A DREAM.

and as for DRV... I've never been a fan of her voice... except in RENT... even then... meh. But I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and wait till I can hear more...

but anyway. YAY!

Thank god a real show with substance, good material, heart and emotion is taking the stage in New York once again. Cannot wait to see it!

I'm definitely not feeling it. Yes the cast is very talented and the revolving stage is still impressive, but I feel like it's lacking something. Of course this is just a video, so who knows what the final product will be.

Still, slightly turned off.

While I'm looking forward to this revival, nothing in those video clips looked very fresh or new to me! I do hope a cast recording is made - I'd love to hear Norm, Aaron, Celia, etc. recorded in these roles. But the staging looked almost identical, and DRV... jury's still out on her as far as I'm concerned.

As far as I'm concerned, Gary Beach is the biggest reason to see this. He's one of my favorite Broadway actors and he looks to be just great!

I wasn't too thrilled with this video either. Besides Aaron, the cast just didn't thrill me really. Daphne didn't sound great to me either. But I guess it was smart to cast someone whose voice sounded like they were dying.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of this show, but after watching the video I just don't understand what's so wrong with Daphne. What is it that everyone here isn't liking? The emoting that she's doing on that video is fantastic.

I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

I can't wait for this show. I don't understand what people are complaining about. The talent seems to be there for me, and thats only half the amazement. Once you are sitting in the theater with the full orchestra, the lighting, the sets - it gets ten times better. Les Mis is such a lovely show, with one of my favorite scores. The last clip of One Day More had me in amazement.

Les Mis still is my no 1 musical, i saw different versions London 1999 and 2006 one, German, Berlin one 2005, and the 1992 Amsterdam one and my favourite version : the Antwerp version with the amazing Hans Peter Janssens as Jean Valjean.
I was never too fond of the broadway recording in some way this is a too European musical and most of the broadway voices are too operatic for it but then that just my opinion

Just a little reminder this Sunday on BBC radio there is the 21 th birtday Les Misérables with a 75 minutes concert with yes Hans Peter as Javert this time, and the complete superb London cast!

I noticed that, too. I wonder if Kylie was just sitting there or she'll actually be in the scene.

The non-Cammack production in Sweden had Fantine show up in Castle on a Cloud, but I don't know if the sort-of reverse, of Cosette showing up before that, is as effective. Well, we'll see. :)
